I have a hard time seeing Lester or Boogie as transfers - they would have to sit out a year unless there are circumstances that would allow either of them a waiver. Something like a seriously ill family member would probably need to arise.

I would not be surprised if TH decided to transfer, based simply on my observation of his minutes played. It appears to me he wants to be THE STUD on the floor, and that is not going to happen here. He is getting killed by the bigger guard in this league.

PA is going to the draft. DJ should be back, and the center piece of next years squad. After next year, he is likely NBA bound, IMHO. MD is not going anywhere, nor is Lance. So, Damian Baugh is a question mark. But he would have to sit out, too. There can be surprises, I know. But this is how I see it at the moment.

I tend to agree this is a likely scenario

No telling who will transfer. Kids have so many people in their ears these days. They don’t always get the best advice. I think the most likely transfer would be Tyler. I think like someone said earlier he wants to be the man. Ain’t gonna happen here. He may have some great games for us but he will never be the man here. Not putting him down. Just saying.

based on what Mark G speculated on the radio today that might end up being the case somewhere else.

So has Mark G. got his own radio show now ??? Par for the course. These newspaper guys can go a little to far when they're on the radio. The ability to stop and think before you speak ain't there. Did I really mean to say that ... Ooops, to late.
Things gotta get bad for those guys to leave. Lester Q. really looks good lately ... Needs to get stronger. Boogie's gotta be willing to take the shot at crunch time. That's just a confidence thing. It's coming. He's looked better lately. Sitting out a year because ... ??? I don't see it.07-coffee3

I agree with the comments that Tyler is the likeliest. Heck, it's probably in his best interest to go to an OVC or Summit League type program where the guards as <6' and the forwards are 6'-5".

RE: Quinones and Boogie
I don't know who kept doing it in the Cincy game, but I remember a couple of times Lester got trapped down in the corner and somebody else twice at least, so there was some numbskull guard play going on. First, you don't get the ball in the corner like that, but also as importantly, the other guards were across half-court or way up by the line and just left the one guy trapped. I know Penny and Tony Madlock do NOT coach that type of guard play.

Well this is exactly what I was thinking. It would make no sense to transfer imho. This season hasn’t gone the way anyone envisioned but you’re missing 2 of your top 3 players. The sky isn’t falling. It’s year two of penny. Let’s get some pieces for next year. You have to build a team and think long term not short term. This is exactly what recruits said they came here, to be NBA players and stay there for a long term. This is a process

Why do you guys listen to the local yocals from the newspaper or radio and take what they say as the written Gospel...the sky is NOT falling and no one is leaving unless it's to go to the NBA ala Precious. Get a grip.

Sitting out isn’t that big of a deal. If a kid thinks he should be playing more he’ll sit out. Lester and Boogie both came here to play with James. When James quit . Then...As far as no one is leaving. You don’t know as well as anyone else If they’re coming back.

So you are saying that a reason for them leaving is because James isn't going to be here next year.

Think about that for a second and get back to me

No but one of them is from New York. His buddy Precious is going to the NBA. He’s competing with Tyler and Alo, Baugh. The other committed to freaking Duke finally gets his groove back and Penny puts the ball in Alos hands down the stretch. Boogie and Lester need to be the two guards. They’re better then both ALo and Tyler. Y’all act like Memphis is end all be all. They’re not from here. They came here probably for one reason. They may come back but if they leave no way I’ll be surprised. Both could play at schools much better then Memphis

We need Boogie and Lester busting the Trey Ball consistently
And Alo popping the Trey with a quicker release

The point is the completely slayed logic in what your reasoning is. Basically, you are saying they are likely transferring because Wiseman left and Precious is NBA bound. They knew when they signed that neither Wiseman nor Precious would be here next year. So, that makes no sense. I have seen nothing that leads me to believe they would transfer. They both are getting a ton of minutes. Penny stuck with Boogie despite him being the 5th best guard on the roster for most of the season. Boogie would not have seen anytime at Duke if he had started the season at Duke like he did here. I am glad Penny stuck with him as you could see his potential but Coach K would not have done that. I just do not see the reasoning for the speculation.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Baugh, Boogie and LQ transfer after the season. Not saying they will but in this era of college hoops, no transfer is a shock to me. With the way this season has gone off the rails for Memphis, I can see guys jumping ship.

RE: Quinones and Boogie
Alo has had some really strong end games

He was doing so at Cincy until he missed that front end of the one and one, which was huge

Every game a different player excels and becomes a savior to fans, but that is not the way it works on the court

I guess some kids may think of transferring after this season as they do after every season, but while after the DJ injury and others, let alone NOT playing with Wiseman after all, the next year comments are not ridiculous, so hopefully that idea does not motivate players to leave

Next year, Lester, Boogie, DJ, Dandridge, Lomax, Tyler and Lance would morph from a talented but young mistake prone team that has dropped a few games late they should have won, to an experienced talented team where that won’t happen as often. Endure the bad breaks now and be patient

Hell, get a win today, and team can set itself up for a get on the good side of the bubble with a home win over Houston next Saturday. I hate that DJ got hurt.

Honestly when Alo is in the game he has to start the ball offensively or he kills the offense for everyone else.

When he plays off the ball his man is the designated helper and it really simplifies the other teams defense.

Teams are learning our weaknesses and what they are doing is pushing us to our weaknesses. One thing most teams are doing is instructing their players not to foul...They understand we struggle to finish in traffic and it seems many times our goal is to get to the FT line and not actually score.

That is what Cinci did...They said we don't believe that Alo can win this game one on one...So they stayed at home everywhere else and challenged Alo to beat them.
