Go Tigers!
You don't learn by doing the same thing over & over with the same result.
Its not the same result. We were in the same situation with USF and we lost. We won this time....No i'm not satisfied we shoulda blown them out, but we did win.

Killer instinct. Gotta step on their throats. You can see Penny ready to jump out of his skin when we ease up with the lead. Wish we played like we are down 10 at all times. Our senses of urgency is not there every play. Makes me crazy. I can see it makes Penny crazy too.

Baugh rebounds better than Lance, hell Lomax does too

RE: ***Official Memphis vs ECU Game Thread*** (2/19)
I'm ok with Lance taking a few 3s (and he made a few) but seriously the guy got hot one game and it is seemingly all he does now. Does anyone else believe that maybe he should just focus on rebounding and blocking instead of chunking a few 3s up? What's the point of a big out on the floor if he doesn't rebound/box out/block?
Just seems like Penny would have addressed this at some point? Am I in the minority?

A player can shoot 3's rebound, box out and block shots. Shooting 3's doesn't stop him from doing the other things.

lol like our hair is on fire— I think that’s the correct term.
When we get ahead, it’s natural to ease up— but the other teams don’t ease up when they are behind like they used to.

Of course all games are different but IMO minute distribution should be something like this right now
Precious 35
Q 35
Boogie 30
Malco 25
Alo 25
Baugh 25
Thomas 15
Harris 10

Can Malco give 25? He hobbled coming into the game last night.
Why so many for TH? I think I would only use him briefly for a needed spark offensively if Precious, DJ (out), Q, Boogie all go cold. You just have to know that he'll give up more points than he'll provide.
I like the kid. He's a Tiger with a big heart. He has to learn to play D. In his defense, he's better/improving.

I am almost to the point of giving Harris' minutes to Junior. Guys are shooting over Harris like he is not even there and our offense isn't getting a boost when he is in the game either.
It is not his fault but right now he is just getting picked on defensively because of his size.

His offense had been there for several games until last night. 17, 11 and 16 in the games leading up to it.
However, late against UCONN and again last night, their guards were just pulling up and shooting right over the top of him and Alo, that is definitely problematic.

We need Peso. Last year we complained about him.
We need a life besides Tiger BB. It’s too bad College football doesn’t last year around.
We need not to place a very high value on our opinions ( opinions which are based on less than a third of the available data)
lol As for ‘common sense’. People with ‘common sense’ don’t post on this board. Everyone here either has uncommon sense, or no sense at all. NTTAWWT

Like most of us, I am a believer in Penny and he is learning. Obviously he knows more than most of us here. Like some have said I'd love to see him try a big starting line up. That would shake things up in a good way, IMO.
He has run some plays. We've seen those at times like the in bounds ally oop, some isolation plays etc. Would love to see him run some more plays for guys, pick and pops things like that. Just something different.
I'd like to see him run a little zone to mix it up and keep the bigs in the paint more in man coverage.
Do something different in the flow of the game.

Last night, Tyler was switched and ended up guarding their forward who was a head taller at the very least. Even with Harris jumping, the forward shot (flat footed) right over him. Fortunately, he missed, but had nothing to do with Harris, he just missed. All I could do was feel bad for Harris. There is nothing you can teach him, or nothing he can do to stop that from happening.

Exactly...
He could be effective being a pest on ball but asking him to closeout on any shooter is a waste of time.

I don't know who the forward was, but Tyler was guarding their #10, who was 6'2" 210 lbs, most of the time he was on the floor. Tyler's listed at 5'9" and 150 lbs. Doesn't take a genius to know how that's usually going to work out -- and it did. It's just a good thing they weren't smart enough to post him up.
