You make more money in Memphis

literally every coach talked about it being an insane advantage.. the people actually playing hated the idea of home tourney's

so put it in Southaven MS at the Landers Center

But come on...Ft. Worth good lord.

Can you imagine how empty is going to be. I could see WSU traveling well but everyone else will bring literally 100s

A couple dozen at least from Greenville. 04-cheers

The geographic footprint of this conference is so spread out that there are very few metro areas that could host the conference tournament that would not be deemed an "advantage" for one team or another.

New Orleans just makes too much sense to me. Great travel destination, ample lodging, a nice, 18k seat NBA arena in downtown. I can't imagine that not being well-attended.

LOL. You might not know the regular season champ until the last day of the season. Not enough time to line up a venue and make sales.

I like the idea, but the 1st place team would host next year. So in this case Houston would be hosting if the season finished today. Even if you have a fluke team finish first, attendance wouldn't be any worse that some of our previous tournaments.

PAC12, MW, WAC and the WCC all use Vegas as their host city for their tournaments. It the one best cities to host conference tourneys as it turns into a big party.

Been saying New Orleans would be the best spot. Ft. Worth is nice for UH though so I'm not complaining. Might actually try to go this year.

One thing people dont talk much about---supposedly CUSA has made enough money in corporate sales and sponsorships for their basketball Tourney in Dallas that they are guaranteed to make money. Having the tournament where your HQ is situated can be an advantage---especially if it is located in a large metroplex with lots of corporations. With the AAC HQ headquarters moving to the Dallas-Ft Worth area, I wouldnt be surprised if the AAC has their eye on building a strong corporate base in the region to help underwrite and support the tournament. We'll see how it goes, but this tournament is located where its driveable for several schools. In the near future, the HQ staff will be located nearby and can help build the kind of corporate relationships that can help the tournament be a financial success. Its possible this could work out well if its done right.

Wha???

You do remember that CUSA had their men's and women's tournament at the Dallas Cowboys Frisco training camp facilities last season...two side-by-side courts on a football field, with simultaneous games taking place and people sitting far away in the seats of the "Frisco Dome." The CUSA boards were livid over it; I can't remember a single fan who liked it... Total disaster.

I can agree with N'awlins but the NBA arena is just too big. A smaller venue is a must.
