What an embarrassment. No one will go to this.

Not even SMU fans.

Haven't you heard, they're changing it to donkey basketball, except on cows.

Damn it. We would have excelled.

did they ever do any of those renovations to US Bank Arena in Cincy? if they would upgrade it a little it would be a good sport for an AAC tourney.

It could be a great spot for a lot of things, but no the owners don’t care about it at all.

The name has changed, it’s now Heritage Bank Center or something like that, but that’s the only thing that’s changed in that building in twenty years.

it looks like it offers easy access from the interstate and plenty of parking. Is there anything to do around the Arena or just parking?

it would be the perfect spot. it's on the banks with plenty of spots to eat, drink and party. also a short walk to the purple people bridge to go over into newport right across the river.

as matt said, the owners don't care. the venue is so poor, UC chose to play basketball in another state on NKU's campus 2 years ago while 5/3 was being renovated instead of playing at US bank arena right downtown. that should tell you something

Yes this will so be like Orlando.

Who only has USF (clearly a draw and basketball power) within 500 miles.

Or UConn who has parking garages and Temple is drivable.

Ft. Worth is neutral, in a metro with alumni from most schools, a new areana, 7m or so people to get some casuals from, an easy drive for; Wichita, Tulsa, SMU, Houston, drivable for Memphis and Tulane, an easy cheap flight from just about everywhere else (Sorry ECU).

It will be the highest attended tournament we have had in total numbers and average. It is unlikely it will move and should be a fun atmosphere.

Wrong again! Serious parking issues in Storrs. Cows refuse to give up their land.

Those 4 make the most sense.

Philadelphia makes no sense. With UConn gone, it's the farthest northern school. Cincy not much better.

The real problem is, we're so spread out, nowhere makes real sense.

The midpoint (by road) between Wichita and Orlando is close to Tupelo, MS, and the midpoint between Philadelphia and Houston is Huntsville, AL, so the most central city is Birmingham, followed by Nashville, Memphis or Atlanta.

Not having a school in any of those other places, the closest AAC school is Memphis, but putting it in Memphis is an advantage for them. The second best is probably New Orleans.

No easy answers.

It's in Ft. Worth b/c the AAC is moving its HQ to Dallas, and it makes sense for the western half, at least. There just isn't a location easily driveable by the majority of the conference.

that's why I'd like to see it rotate between Memphis' FEF and Tulsa's BOK Center...nice venues that are centrally located and close to other teams.

No to home courts so unfortunately Memphis is out. Also there are more teams within 400m of the metro than Memphis and the flights are cheaper and easier through the major hub that is Dallas/Ft Worth

Tulsa < DFW

So again Ft Worth for a lot of reasons even if most those reasons are a slim difference is the best spot.

As a non-AAC fan but for Fort Worth local, I was planning on buying tickets to the tournament. However, the cheapest all-tourney passes are $224 in the worst seats, I decided against it. They could have chosen a better price point for a non-AAC City.

I just don't see how Memphis can be 'out' when they've had two of the most attended AAC tourneys: #1 2014 - 63,636 and #3 2019 - 45,701

I should say close to several strong fan bases such as WSU, Memphis, SMU, and the home team (Tulsa)

of course it will never happen but I'd love to see it at the Landers Center in Southaven MS (Memphis metro area)

it has by my count 22 hotels in the immediate area, Tanger outlets, 30 mins to Tunica, 25 mins to Graceland.

Landers Center holds 9,000 for NBA G-League games

That makes sense, but other fans would still gripe that we have an advantage. Although I don't hear anybody saying the same for SMU now.
