Well written and conceived. Trump's delivery was very sub-par (and low energy).

And the part with Rush Limbaugh was incredibly mawkish (which means sentimental in a feeble or sickly way), and takes away from genuine moments of emotions such as immediately talking about the 2 year old born at 21 weeks right afterwards, or the Tuskeegee Vet (who deserved the Medal way more than Rush IMO), or the Military dad reuniting with his family.

Sorry but with a mom passing away from Parkinson's last year, I will never get over Rush Limbaugh making fun of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's.

Nancy Pelosi didn't do herself any favors but she's not going anywhere in California.

Sinema's reactions were interesting - I bet you she votes to acquit.

Sub par? That's an interesting take. 03-lmfao

I think maybe it was a deliberate lower key approach than typical.

I agree but sub-par carries a negative connotation while lower key doesn't.

RE: Trump SOTU Volume 3
I'm a bit surprised that the Dems aren't harping on the 3 instances that looked pretty partisan to me. Granting rank to the 100 year old vet, the scholarship to the little girl from philly, and the military reunion.

But I guess that's because Trump's people identified three sets of people they could praise whom the Dems could never criticize. I like to think I'm smart, but I guess I'm not 4-d smart.

He slurred over a few words, and lost his spot a few times (when he was talking about the wall for instance). The speech was well written and touched upon the points you'd expect. But I don't think it was delivered that well. You guys never seemed to think Obama delivered a speech very well and was just relying on the teleprompter. I feel the same way about Trump tonight.

The one thing I'll give him credit for was he didn't seem to go off topic - sticking to the speech probably was a wise move.

I thought it was a fantastic speech, but there were a few- 3-5- moments where he slurred or mispronounced a word. not a big deal. This was a speech most Dems and never trumpers would never have admitted our President would be capable of, however.

Obama was worthless without his teleprompter, but he was pretty good at delivery.

I can’t stand Trump’s delivery, but the message was a slam dunk. And his delivery was actually decent tonight.

Yeah, but when TRiUMPh delivered that speech it was because he delivered all those things. Oblunder delivered crap and was nothing to brag about.

Let's be honest, it's impressive that, as drunk and feeble as she is, Pelosi was able to rip in half what must have seemed like a telephone book to her.

If there's one law I hope does get passed is that law that allows the average citizen to sue the members of a city council for actions that bring disaster to them. Sanctuary cities must end.

I said last night on one of the Iowa threads that Trump needed to do exactly what he did toni9ght, and show he was capable of it. He knocked the SOTU out of the park tonight. Better than Reagan. If he can maintain some of tonight's discipline, there will be no Dem party (but a new curse will alas eventually arise.) Kudos, Donald. Ya dun good!

Petty. With that action Pelosi has not only disrespected the office of the speaker, but cemented herself as totally partisan in her leadership of the impeachment hoax. Trump played her and the dims like a fiddle tonight.

I read a report earlier tonight that Dems were hoping Trump would lose his cool over the impeachment and make a fool out himself tonight by not acting Presidential. Well, Nancy darling won that prize hands down. She sat there knowing the Dems are toast after her impeachment clown show and this speech by President Trump. Don't witches melt in water. Maybe its raining outside in DC tonight.

That was Joy Behar on The View today.
