Wiseman gone... For good..

This is odd... And really crappy for the conference. Thankfully Memphis has looked good without him

Wow. That might be even weirder than the King senior year mid-season redshirting thing. "One-third of a season and done" just doesnt have the same ring to it.

Gotta wonder if seeing Cole Anthony go down had any factor. He has a lot of money riding on the draft. He put up an impressive and efficient couple of games and now can step out to prepare with a lower risk of injury.

I’ll bet you’ll see more of this. Kids will play the first semester at a Duke or somewhere to get some non conference elite games for tape for the draft then quit after that and wait for the draft.

The one and done needs to go away. Either three years in college or out of high school.

This is harmful to Penny’s recruiting. You have the #1 overall pick leaving your team because, for whatever reason, he feels he would be benefitted best by not training under the coach.

Ouch.

Why don't these kids go to Europe for a year?

Good for him. I wouldve never gone to college if I was him, but once I was told I had to pay the NCAA $11k I wouldve double birded them immediately.

not really. He finished his first semester of college just a few days back. Knowing what we know about his family and him I am sure he will be working towards his degree even if he is in the NBA

Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing him play.

At least Memphis has already shown they are capable of winning without him.

Not liking school isnt an issue for Wiseman. Kid is a great student.

He's smart and didnt want to drop out with just a few weeks left of classes. Finished classes and is going to focus on getting ready to make millions of dollars.

Wouldn't he have had to pay back or "donate" like $11,000 before he could play again? Or was that not an issue? If he had to repay that, which he likely obviously wouldn't have on hand, that would make sense to just walk away from the college game.

when the whole saga went down i thought it was pretty cool for memphis to go to bat for their guy and their team the way they did. when they went belly up after the ncaa put their foot down i thought it was kind of a slight towards wiseman.

the ncaa is garbage for doing that to the team and they should be held accountable.

I might be wrong on this but I think in such a situation the full amount doesnt have to be paid immediately.

Either way, kudos to Wiseman. Go make your money!
