Keep making up **** Gink, it's the only thing you are consistent at.
Have fun in your wave pool.
insults other school academically, while simultaneously ending a sentence in a preposition...
Sorry to disappoint you but "in" is the preposition, "wave pool" is a noun (person, place, or thing).
So...yeah...he's correct and they need to teach English at Memphis.

You prefer the top 10 universities heading to the toilet?
Name a top 10 let alone top 100 school going to the toilet..
You apparently didn't understand the phrase. Nobody said "Name Top 10 schools." I'll try a different way.
Would you prefer that your school was on the Bottom 10 list of universities headed to the toilet? Is that easier for you to understand, than calling them the top 10 schools headed to the toilet? Which they would be, btw.
I get your point. Its great Memphis and especially UCF are making strides in their academic programs.
I just would rather not be on the list associated with some of the other schools and already be top (whatever makes you feel proud) and growing from there.
But I think you're making an assumption about the starting point for all schools that isn't necessarily implied in the list.

Most schools would prefer that but unlike Univ of Cincinnati, which was founded 200 years ago in 1819, UCF didn't open its doors till 1968 (just 51 years ago).
Yes, some schools had CENTURY or more head starts but UCF has made strides in just 50 years that took some schools 100-200 years to achieve.

I graduated undergrad from Ohio State (1870 land grant school) in the last 5 years that was not really considered a solid school until mid 2000's.
Again I understand that UCF has done a tremendous job in a short amount of time and Memphis has made huge improvements as well.
For example though, when Boise is 4 on the list and the reasoning for them being on the list are the following, over a 13 year period, I take the list with a grain of salt:
1) 29% increase in student body
-Who gives a F. Are the standards getting stricter?
2) 373% increase in donors
-Is this strictly academic or does that include athletics?
3) 300+ Mil and increase in on campus facilities (That's really not much over a 13 year period and again is that strictly academic buildings/research facilities?
You can trash my English and run on sentences if you'd like lol^^

I mean, it is easier to get ahead when an extra $100 million is moved around (AKA Misappropriated) to help fuel success.

Hey, just be happy now that everyone can now use building operations/renovation funds for new construction too. You're welcome!

No, it is true. If you don't care, why post?
"Ending a sentence with a preposition such as "with," "of," and "to, is permissible in the English language. There are theories that the false rule originates with the early usage guides of Joshua Poole and John Dryden, in trying to align the language with Latin, but there is no reason to suggest ending a sentence with a preposition is wrong. Nonetheless, the idea that it is a rule is still held by many."

Man, the AAC may have started off as a bit of a hodgepodge of teams thrown together without that history of hatred there, but you're taking the rivalries to the point of several posts arguing about a very specific portion of grammar.

I would posit, after reading that "quote" from merriam-webster that all of my English and grammar teachers from the 6th grade on must have been high on meth, but Imma go with the ol' "white-wash" theory. Because I remember (vividly) learning that as a rule in my grammar text books from grade school (1970s). With the internet, as long as you get buy-in from all parties involved, you could make the Holocaust disappear.

What an astonishing level of insecurity from bulls fans in this thread.
Here’s some free life advice: Good things happening to other people is not an attack on you. You’ll be a much happier person if you learn to not take someone else’s success as a personal failure.

When one of your fans says "Flagship, in every sense." in regards to a list that ranks only schools that are ranked 151 and lower...
His arrogance is only rivaled by his stupidity.

So is this an English 1010 or an English 1020 Thread?
There seems to be a heavy emphasis on proper English Gammar and the proper use of Prepositions.
I thought we were just keeping it to sports here, lol.

Please review the TITLE and OP of this thread. This thread has nothing to do with sports, apart from the coincidental fact that sports is how we are all affiliated.
