"Ending a sentence with a preposition such as "with," "of," and "to, is permissible in the English language. There are theories that the false rule originates with the early usage guides of Joshua Poole and John Dryden, in trying to align the language with Latin, but there is no reason to suggest ending a sentence with a preposition is wrong. Nonetheless, the idea that it is a rule is still held by many."

I would posit, after reading that "quote" from merriam-webster that all of my English and grammar teachers from the 6th grade on must have been high on meth, but Imma go with the ol' "white-wash" theory. Because I remember (vividly) learning that as a rule in my grammar text books from grade school (1970s). With the internet, as long as you get buy-in from all parties involved, you could make the Holocaust disappear.

So you were wrong. I don't really care about grammar on a message board but you are the one who was being a dick about it.

I'll just wait for my apology.

Keep waiting... I wasn't wrong. Call your 12th grade English teacher and ask her (or him.... not to be sexist).
Just because you were taught something, doesn't make it correct.

I'm sure in the 70's you were also taught Columbus "discovered" America or discovered the Earth was round...

Interesting you should bring that up - we WERE in grade school, but I think in junior high (?) we were taught it was Leif Eriksson. Which begs the question; why do they do that to kids? There are several examples of that kind of thing in grade school. Another one is the story of the first Thanksgiving. It's all just indoctrination. "Here's the version of the history of America we want you to 'know'."

I don't live in Florida, but I've GOT to believe that UCF is a fall-back school for kids who were set on Miami, Florida, and Florida State. Just like with ECU, I'm sure there are some kids who have always wanted to go to UCF, but the allure of the state schools is real.

I'm not trolling - I really just don't get it.

You don't have to buy anything...why not do your own research (takes seconds to do).

NOTE: No one is pushing for UCF to be the Harvard of the South...but what you are forgetting is that since Florida's population is 22 Million and growing by the thousands each day while NC's population is 10.3 Million....there is a lot more competition for scholarships/top spots, which is why UCF is so attractive these days to many top students.

Also, seeing the priority of Work Internships is more important today than ever before...UCF being located right across the street from Siemens and just down the road from Lockheed Martin, plus 100 plus other high tech businesses (including Army & Navy Simulation Units) in UCF's Research Park (let alone all the Hospitality opportunities...which is maximized by UCF's Rosen School of Hospitality, located right in the middle of the Convention/Hotel corridor), UCF's location in "booming" Orlando has certainly been a major selling point to future students (more importantly, their parents).

So many UCF Students get hired by these companies right out of school because they get internship opportunities while they were in school.
