Still alive. Only down 1 with 6.7 seconds left. Review taking place to see who’s ball it is.

2 point game and we throw the ball away. Total choke job through and through today. This is very disappointing.

56-53 final. We gave that game away to a bad team. That can’t happen if we are going to take the next step.

WBB Game 4: ODU (3-0) @ UVA
It is one game though. I'll get over it and they'll have to as well.

We will win a lot of games, but these are the games you have to win if you want to start working towards rankings and seeding in any post season tournaments. With that being said, this would have been a 49 point loss 4 years ago. In Nikki we believe!

Although I get what you are saying, to be fair...Karen Barefoot is 1-0 against UVA during her time here at ODU. (69-62 win on 3/19/15 in WNIT first round game) I don't really like comparing teams from different years, but I do believe that we have a very special team this year and I believe in Nikki.
I want to know how UVA went to the fT line 20 times from the second half and OT, compared to ODU going just 5 times. Were we not aggressive enough or did the refs not call anything our way?
We still have some good games coming up on the schedule that can make a difference in the RPI standings. (not cupcakes) Hopefully this will be a learning experience, because for fans....it's just disappointing.

RE: WBB Game 4: ODU (3-0) @ UVA
To me, the game turned on the last 10 seconds of regulation. ODU was up by three, UVA with the ball out of bounds in their end of the court. ODU contested the inbounds, leaving a UVA player a clear shot at the elbow for the tying 3. This is a vexingly dilemma for coaches and fans alike — foul or give the shot. My view has always been that you foul, give the two tries at the line and live with the results. If the opposing team makes the shots, you’re up one with the ball to inbound. If you don’t foul, you risk the other team making the three and, most important, gaining momentum going into overtime. This is what happened Sunday. coaches get paid for making these types of decisions. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. The UVA player could have just as easily missed the three (they had made only one other the entire game).
