RE: Listening to 92.9 to keep up with the Wiseman situation...
The few times I've listened they have simply laid out facts for better or worse to close out the factual part then move on to the areas where it's speculative.

Facts: Penny is/was a booster and he paid $ 11,500 for moving, NCAA knew and Penny knew, Memphis didn't

The rest is not settled yet because we have only read the complaint from the Wiseman side. NCAA has yet to file their reply to the complaint

Unless a representative of Memphis says straight out that they never knew that Penny had given money to move the Wiseman family, I will believe they knew. Maybe they already have and I missed it, but it really doesnt make sense for the NCAA to have that information and the school didn't. Where did the NCAA get the info if not from the school?

"Psst. Hey, this is Penny... don't tell the school, but I need to tell you something."

IMO it seems the NCAA knew about the assistance back in May. "Somehow" they didn't know or didn't give enough concern about Penny's 2008 donation back in May. Now it's "somehow" become a problem.

If anyone wants to listen to Randy Fishman's interview.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. The NCAA has standard penalties for a significant number of infractions. They also have a database of past cases available to all member institutions so that they can review similar cases before self imposing their own penalties and see what precedent has been set in arguments for/against similar situations.

There's no reason to listen to the radio anymore. Just listen to podcasts like a normal person.

Good advice. Can you suggest who’s podcast I should listen to?

I'm pretty normal and I've never listened to a podcast.

Define normal.

I don't need a podcast to know that.

What in the world does that have to do with the fact that they had all the information in May? Wiseman’s lawyer plainly stated “the NCAA knew all the relevant information on May.“ Did you listen to it? The murder scenario and knowing the penalty that you’re facing was used as an analogy only as a supporting argument. This case is not hinging on that. The case hinges on Penny’s status as a booster, and the ambiguity of the word “indefinite” that could mean “indeterminate” OR “forever.” In this case the definition favors Wiseman and the University as “indeterminate.”

Amen. I was getting so frustrated listening to J&J's interview with Clay Travis. The focus of almost all of their questions to Clay was falsely predicated on fact that the UofM is suing the NCAA. It only takes reading the complaint, which is publicly available at this point, to find out that the UofM is not suing the NCAA. Only James is suing the NCAA. While the UofM's interests do align with James in this case, they are not the ones taking legal action, at least not yet. Since J&J used that wrong premise as the backdrop for all of the questions, the entire interview was largely a waste of time.

Yep, and they never once addressed that.

They are terrible interviewers.

I like the show, but they really are.
Guest list has improved. They play well off each other. And they are normally upbeat, which I prefer.
But the interviewing has always been bad and is just not improving. They do best when they just have a guest on there who goes his/her own way - like Fitz or Clay Travis.

I stopped listening to that station years ago. Not sure which one didn't die on the Drake and Zeke show but the survivor is a douchebag. He is negative about everything.

RIP Zeke. Dude was a real one.

The Drake and Zeke Show was great, Drake sucks though.

They're talking about the impact of vacating games on the selection committee right now and I can't remember a team ever having it happen DURING the season before.

Seems sketch

Yeah, Giannotto is on xanax. Wright is on speed. Sometimes a combo like that can work. In this case it's really bad radio.

Let everyone but us overthink this. It was in (and is still. in.) good hands this time.

Rudd, Penny, Wiseman family, Ballins and Fishmans. lol

Jeffery Wright's constant interruptions of hosts, co-hosts and guests, his snide little quips that are usually coming straight out of his @$$, his lack of knowledge on almost everything, his constant tiresome gambling angles on everything, and his definite Ole Miss lean, make him the new worst of our local radio buddies.

Today Wright was trying to make the Wiseman situation equal to what Freeze did down there. Maybe equal to what Freeze did at Briarcrest, but somehow no one got in trouble for that, maybe the NCAA had their blind side towards Mississippi?

Caulkins and Woloshin are the only ones trying to do a local sports talk show. I sometimes wonder what is going through the rest of their heads.
