Quote:Hopefully this means OU just isn't very good!
Rourke, OU's supposed great QB for the year, was only 15/27 passing. That's the good news for us.
Bad news for us: Ohio was 11/17 on 3rd downs against Miami. And Miami had zero turnovers, and Ohio's 2 turnovers (1st half) cost them the game, basically -- while they ran the ball just fine over Miami (5.2 yards/carry).
Ohio had about 100 more yards than Miami (374 over 278), and was closing in on 2x more TOP than Miami.
So basically, Ohio's going to be Pissed. And they'll be at home again, and they are hungry for bowl eligibility.
And we haven't won on the road yet. If our D doesn't show up very well (as road games go; and halves at home certainly can go) -- and Ohio steps up after this loss as opposed to plays the same (or worse) -- I could do nothing but assume we'll lose in a dogfight.
We need:
- Not assume Ohio's going to clearly lose the turnover battle like they did against Miami
- TO assume Ohio's going to play At Least more up to their potential to make up for that game; bowl hunting too
- Wassink to play at least a little more sound at the passing game (barely throw over 50% last game; hasn't been very sound given some small nagging injury?)
- Our D to step up and play like they're at a home game, at least
