Filling the stadium need to be the goal. We can’t fill it as it is now.

We had 60+ sellouts (yes the quality of those sellouts faded towards the end) and Im tired of people acting like we have 15 people in a 20k stadium. We fill the stadium with among the highest percentage of stadiums in the G5. Nowhere does it say that you have to sell out in order to increase your stadium. Honestly if they added an upper deck with no fees I bet a lot more people would get tickets since so many have an issue with the seat fees.

I would assume the same but most of the tickets left right now have zero seat fees.

That's very much how I could see it playing out. Minus the weight room and other stuff on the back side. We're limited on space. But that concept works for me and is really nice looking.

Something like that would be awesome. If they can incorporate some academic facility funds into this by integrating a training facility or something underneath it. Before we even go there we need to fix the product on the field period.

You’d think they could spend some of that sec money on a VO guy that doesn’t sound like a good TTS program

RE: NEZ: Budget estimate
So I have a question for anyone who might be in the "know". Once the east and west sides are complete, are there any additional amenities or features that we are not getting during this build that our NIZ design should include? We have all heard speculation that our new home locker room may be part of the NIZ and I would assume that they would want to add an additional men's and women's bathroom as well. Beyond this, would we absolutely need anything else? From a construction perspective it would appear that the biggest obstacles preventing Phase II would be both the addition to Rollins Hall which houses Army ROTC (building behind scoreboard) and the Navy ROTC building located on Bluestone behind the existing NIZ. Does anyone know if it has at least been discussed to build a new NIZ and include space for ROTC? Looking at an aerial photo, there would be plenty of room to include a new locker room, possibly two additional sets of bathrooms, as well as new ROTC space for both branches which I would think would qualify for some state funding. Thoughts?

Is the NEZ really all that bad? I'd love to see it improved but is it really an "eyesore"? Posting for a friend...

My personal vote: it's bad.

Meh. It needs to be upgraded but it’s not like it’s rusted and falling apart.

RE: NEZ: Budget estimate
IMO, just doing NEZ is not good. We need to reduce the seats at NEZ by approx half and move the others to the East sidelines. Since we don't have much space on the west corner meeting NEZ, I believe it would look good with just some simple small seating compartments. A cozy one like this with a small building and scoreboard on top.

Then move half the seats from NEZ to the 3rd floor on the east side with a 2 level suites between the floors. Put a roof for 3rd floor.

like this fan-made rendering

Hence why the AD has shifted to other priorities and will begin fundraising in a year or 2 to build the NEZ. In the mean time they will begin planning and looking at options.

Yeah i like the fan rendering and it should be a good fit for us too. Since the game day building isn't gonna be a place where we can see a huge addition to seating may be we can move the scoreboard on to it and make the NEZ purely about seating, suites and as gathering/connecting place for both east and west sidelines.

Was it ever confirmed or denied that the East grandstands can handle the structural load of a third deck? It's not as simple as just building one on top if they didn't prepare the foundations on that side to handle it down the line. from what I saw last weekend it's very tight on that side and unless we move the lightpoles back (which we may have to do anyways for an expansion) the only option we have it so build immediately over

I spoke with the architect on site last month and specifically ask that question. The answer was "yes" a third deck can be added to both sides. The light poles on the East side would be relocated at that time.

That's great. I'm glad they were thinking ahead
