If Trump is personally implicated in this, then of course he will have to resign immediately. But if he’s not personally implicated — which is the case so far — then he will benefit from this whole scandal. Because Trump is a kind of avatar of the anti-establishment, and this scandal is just reminding people that much of the establishment (business, politics, academics, media, “philanthropy”, etc.) is absolute scum.

No — uncorroborated accusations are not nearly enough. I meant “implicated” as in “proven to have abused underage girls”. Or to have used his money/influence/status to knowingly protect other people who have done so.

Why even question this? The guy who was suing on behalf of the girls said Trump was the only person who would help him. And its been repeated (though I haven't seen proof) that Epstein was banned from Trump's property.

Unless something totally new comes out, even talking about Trump being involved is just flat out moronic. Its worse than the Russian conspiracy theory.

Talking about Trump being involved at this point is like talking about JDTulane and Native Georgian being implicated with Epstein. Might as well throw in JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald.

I frame it as a question because I view this story as “still developing” and there are just too many facts which are unknown. The lawyer who gave the statement exonerating Trump — that seems sincere and I think he did his best for his clients. But I’m not satisfied that he knows everything about Epstein’s world. Then there is the matter of Trump’s personal moral/ethical code, which — I want to state this as neutrally as I can — does not inspire my confidence.

For the past 4 years, the anti-Trump world (in politics, media, the US government, foreign governments, etc.) has mobilized every resource at their disposal to try and discredit him any way they possibly can. I suspect that world includes a lot of people who are very close to Epstein (not to mention, Epstein himself) and if there was any serious/credible way to tie him into all that, I think we would’ve heard about it long before now.

Apparently had hills of cash in his place, and a sizable stash of loose diamonds on hand also. With a private jet and millions likely stashed offshore, he woulda been gone in a flash.

I don't think anyone is going to get after him inside that prison. They probably have him in a very secure area. Same prison where El Chappo is. But you never know

We’ll see what happens. But I really doubt it’s that.

Another thing: if he really is a “billionaire”, he will be able to buy plenty of protection on the inside. Guards and prisoners alike will be happy to keep him safe and comfortable.
