RE: Cronin article in USA Today
was checking out the ucla targets on 247. damn. the offense will pretty much take care of itself if he's able to land five stars. this could be where his recruiting acumen would come in play. when he was very successful at the game, he was hocking the wares of huggs and pitino. selling his game on his behalf was moderately successful. now he has the allure of ucla. and the pac 10 sucks balls. could have a solid grip on the west coast. and like texas. could be a sneaky great hire. he's obviously a good coach. happy he's gone and everything but i hope he wins big

What you are missing in all of this is that Cronin is not terribly smart. That's why he gets routinely out-coached by teams with similar or even lesser talent.

To determine how he'll do in the PAC-12...look at who else is coaching there...off the top of my head, I'd say Sean Miller can coach him into the ground...and already has.

Who else is coaching in the conference right now? Do they have better chops?

That's how you predict the outcome.

Mick's cringy quotes, bragging about his job and how much money he makes, talking about how defense wins games, obvious overcompensation for some deep-seated insecurities... this stuff used to illicit a long "sighhhh..." followed by a rubbing of the temples. Now, it's just funny to hear this nonsense from an outsider perspective.

I hope Mick is able to visit Ireland soon. He is always welcome at the homes of his fellow wee folk.

I didn’t see many cringy Quotes in this one.
Also, we have to remember they interview a bunch of people including Mick, and they put it all together in an article. Many times it comes out different than the real conversation. Now at times when he’s interviewed he doesn’t always choose the best words but that’s just not his strength.

Other times, like on the weekly radio show ( not post game) He comes across with a high basketball acumen and interesting to listen to.

I will be cheering for him at UCLA, but focusing 100 times more on the Bearcats!
