RE: The Realignment Mock Draft
I think with the AAC and MWC are a step up closer to the P5, the other schools would want to move up. ODU is locked as protection, but they are spending at the AAC level. It would be hard for that school saying yes to big time conference.

RE: The Realignment Mock Draft
If Big 10 trades Sun Belt etc for their spot, they should be limited by the pool of teams the Sun Belt would have been limited to.

Big 10 traded for the Patriot's pick. The Patriot's pick was limited to FCS schools. Notre Dame isn't an FCS school. The Patriot should be allowed to pick a P5 program with their Big10 slot.

You're not taking teams from that level of school, you're just repositioning yourself to take your level of school. For example, if I am running Conference USA and take the first pic I can't take Notre Dame I just reposition myself to potentially take a Houston or Temple.

I think that is what clt has done. Position for Houston or Temple as first pick. If it is Temple, Sunbelt grabs Houston.

RE: The Realignment Mock Draft
By the way, I don't know if this was made clear. It seems as if the real value for teams like a patriot league to take a g5, or for a g5 to take a p5 team would be end the draft free agents.

When are those designated, and is there an order for selecting those teams?

For example, if CUSA has seven picks now and we trade away four of them, are we able to take four available free agents at the end of the draft? And then if so, what order are those able to be claimed?

I would run it more like a supplemental draft to keep Bama out of CUSA and Ohio St out of the Sun Belt. Lets say the conferences can hold onto 4 of their current members if they choose to before the selecting starts. So for arguments sake the G5 wont want to keep anyone but the P5 can protect their big boys.

You've basically created a round before the first. There were only 5 P5 picks available per round. The FCS conferences have no competition so you used their pick to create more P5 slots beforehand?

Here is a scenario...What if colleges drafted players along with the NFL? So you reverse order rank the schools then same with the NFL. NFL picks from college students and colleges pick high schoolers. Do you think it would be fair for the Patriots to swap places with EMU to take the best college player in the country when EMU could have only taken the best high school player?

The Big-10 and patriot swap/ trade should definitely not go through. Its an even swap of picks where the Big-10 goes from almost last to first in 3 different rounds and they don't give up any extra picks.

If the Big10 really wants JMU, then swapping with the Patriot would be cool. If Pac12 wanted Boise or Houston then I think swapping with G5 is cool. You shouldn't be able to pick a team that wasn't available for the original owners of the slot.

Have your GM Hokie Mark discuss with other GM's in the pinned thread to come up with a conclusion. I can see both sides of the argument so I think that's the best solution.

Nothing was made explicit that if you made a trade that the recipient was limited to the same pool as the original owner of the bid. If we are going to play like that then the trades should be rescinded.

Don't be mad that the Big Ten was aggressive in its pursuit of solid programs.

WWJDD--what would Jim Delaney Do?

Patriot will get the first pick in the second round, if I'm seeing that correctly. So that they would get the last pick in the first round and the first pick in the second round.

I don't know, you may be right. It seems a Big Ten commissioner is getting the better end of that trade.
