You have to start with a football sponsoring conference and you must protect from among its football playing membership. This means the ACC doesn't have ND, the Big South doesn't have Liberty, etc.

I could pick up a Western conference. There wouldn't be any conflict of interest because the Venn circles of the Big South and any Western conference wouldn't overlap or even come close. Plus I could finally set into motion the long-dreamt-about Big South-Big Sky Challenge. The BSC-BSC C.

I hope C-USA picks Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, and Chattanooga.

Is this being done from a football perspective since the A10 was not included? If so the CAA should protect Delaware, Towson, JMU, William and Mary, and Elon

Adding a bunch of defunct conferences doesn't work because all of those teams are in existing conferences and it dilutes the game too much. It's as unworkable as having both the Big 8 and Big 12 in addition to the SWC. Or like having both the Pac-12 and the old Pacific Coast Conference, or having the SEC and the ACC and the old Southern Conference in the same game, or having Big East football and the old Border Conference, Skyline Conference, and Missouri Valley Conference in the game. At that point you might as well forget the existing conferences and just let a few players choose any teams they want (something we've already done at least twice here).

Of course since in this game the B12 and SEC only protected only one each former SWC, it’s more like having the old B8. (But NOT the B12)

Metro protects
Louv, So Car, Ga T,

WAC should be intresting with 12 schools left in western time zones
Middle America will be very popular

Ariz St, Ariz, BYU, Utah, TCU
