RE: Rice vs. WKU (Friday Doubleheader)
Rice 3-0 through 4.0IP. Sound familiar. Edwards with the 3-run bomb, his 5th HR of the year. He's our hottest hitter right now, along with Cruz. Dunlap is 2-2 tonight.

Kravetz with 7 Ks through 4, but he's already thrown 76 pitches, meaning he's unlikely to go more than 6 innings. Lewis is going to have to come up big again as he did last Sunday for us.

Offensively, we continue to struggle as we have for the past 2+ weeks. And we're going against a pitcher who had an ERA just under 7.00 coming in.

RE: Rice vs. WKU (Friday Doubleheader)
Dunlap's 2-2 ... with singles to right-center and center. But in T5, WKU plays him with three infielders way left of 2nd base. After two wiffs, he still pulls the 0-2 pitch ... a routine bouncer right to the 3rd baseman for an inning-ending 5-3 putout. Was hoping he'd choke up and poke it into the wide-open right side could have driven in a run.

RE: Rice vs. WKU (Friday Doubleheader)
Scary opening to B5, as Evan's first pitch hit the WKU batter in the head. After several minutes, he slowly got up and walked off the field on his own power. Hope he's OK.

After a double down the LF line (Cox's just-in-time throw to 3rd base was bobbled, so the pinch runner was safe, even after over-sliding the bag) and a K ... both runners scored on a single up the middle.

A nice double-play attempt only got the runner at second. But after a no-throw steal of second, a wiff-K on a 2-2 pitch ended the inning.

3-2, Rice ... after 5.

Another great inning for the Owl bullpen in B6. 6 runs on 2 hits and an error. Also 2 walks and a HBP. The 1st walk was Evan walking the leadoff hitter. He was pulled at that point. 1 of the 2 hits was a grand slam.

Still looking a similar WP to last year with far less talent...

So I’m not sure you can really blame Bragga for this.

Why don’t we have an underclassmen pitcher worth a damn right now? Did anyone recruit?

I remember leaving the Oregon stadium after we just won that regional and we were still a part of the national conversation. The Duck students were chanting "one sport school!" Thanks Joey- we are now a no sport school and if you think about the fact that almost every positive contribution this season has come from those crummy players that Wayne- excuse me Wayne's assistants as he never did a thing- recruited or were stuck with- just think how bright next season looks! At least he doesn't have to worry about baseball fans funding the RBI instead of his personal slush fund the Fowl Club (as in dead chicken head logo)!

We have better arm talent coming next year (the two JuCo guys) than anything Wayne and staff recruited post-Canterino.

This is Wayne’s team, correct... And I think you see the **** sandwich on the field.

Every player on this year’s team - good and bad - was recruited by Wayne’s staff. Everyone. Zero Bragga recruits here yet.

Good thing college baseball recruits 14 yr olds now so we can wait 10 years to see if Bragga experiment pans out

For most college sports fans, it is just the big two.
