Too stupid and gaffe prone to win. He’s the older Democratic version of Dan Quail—but with me too issues.

Biden's probably got the best chance to flip the Rust Belt back to blue.

College towns like Ann Arbor aside, Rust Belt Democrats are obviously a different breed than Coastal Democrats. They don't care as much about identity politics, SJW slogans and AOC worshipping. They'll gladly take an old white man with blue collar credentials paying lip service to manufacturing unions.

So I can't speak of other states. But Michigan is a lock for returning to blue if it's Biden, assuming he avoids some scandal that would tank his campaign. Although voters have become more immune to scandals. It takes a lot more than Quayle's "potatoe" or Dukakis' tank photo or Howard Dean's scream to make headlines these days.

Good opening ad. There aren't very fine people on both sides.

SHOCK POLL: BIDEN OPENS 8-POINT LEAD ON TRUMP

https://morningconsult.com/2019/04/24/jo...ald-trump/

My thought was the same as yours. He has the best chance to beat Trump, but he'll NEVER get the nomination.

The last thing the progressive wing wants is to spend all it's time lecturing us on social justice and being woke then nominate an old straight white guy for President.

Well going back to something I said a couple of weeks ago. The extremist personalities tend to be the loudest in volume but fewest in number. I'd be willing to bet the the vast majority of people that vote democratic are more center than progressive left. You'd never know that because MSM wants 24/7 AOC. Maybe if Joe can keep himself out of the muck, no scandles, the true democratic voters might come out in droves to support him in the primaries

Depends on the state I guess.

The moderates might prevail in a state like Iowa, but here in Wisconsin, the demmies go as Dane County goes, and Dane County is UBER leftist.

As you also pointed out, the MSM wants AOC to be the face of the "movement". Can't imagine they wouldn't try and torpedo Biden at every opportunity.

Democratic caucus voters in Iowa are very far left. Biden has a better chance in New Hampshire.

Nah it was cringe. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth, and it doesn't make any sense. Everyone in the rust belt that voted for Trump are nazis, but I'm your man and will earn your vote. That message just doesn't square.

"...What Biden will soon find out is whether an effort to highlight institutional support like this is too old school or out of step with today’s Democratic Party. “Does this actually help him? The fact that he has supporters is a core strength,” said one leading Democratic operative who’s in close touch with the Biden team. “But they’re insiders, so it’s a core weakness.”

This, of course, is the existential question Biden’s entire 2020 effort faces. “He is making the same waves he would have in 2016,” lamented one prominent South Carolina Democrat of the expected campaign rollout. Or, in the words of a top Democratic donor who’s been in touch with Biden and his team in the weeks leading up to the launch, upon hearing of yet another Biden call to a potential elected supporter, “That’s so Hillary....”"

fify

Zero? He'd certainly do better than Hilary. The thing is he's going to get roasted about medicare for all and the new green deal.

I do agree with the previous poster, running anti-Trump will get you nowhere.

well, only two others on this board were in my camp when "don't underestimate the Donald announced"...

all I see is a slaughter on the horizon with a couple more blue states voting red this go-round....

we'll see next Nov., eh?

Swag, the dude who put that thing together is Jason Kessler. He was a big Obama/Occupy guy who claimed to be "red pilled" and switched teams. There are photos and videos of the buses that brought those guys in. I am sure there were some legit far right guys holding tiki torches, and others just wanted to make a few dollars. It was a staged event though.

And I thought Trump was racist. Kind of like the VA governor erasing the black Lieutenant Governor out of an ad... then 2 year later appearing in a yearbook as either blackface or a klan member.

Latest on that one is the one in the Klan garb is his girlfriend/now wife. Hence the noticeable height differential and why they're posing like that together.

Yet, he's still squatting in the Gov's mansion, the accused serial rapist is in the Lt's office and the other blackface dim is our ineffective AG.

good times in Ol Virginny. Looking more and more like a banana republic everyday since the clinton bagman was inaugurated.

You can't run under the banner of bringing the country together, if you're framing one side of the country having helped elect literally hitler, and him getting another term is the end of the country.

Like I said, it doesn't square. He's trying to play both sides. Either be the moderate or be the SJW, you can't be both.
