Say it ain't so Joe - Fort Bend Owl - 04-25-2019 06:20 AM

Joe Biden is in officially - think that makes #20 on the democratic side?

The Washington Post headline this morning - 'Is the new Democratic Party too woke to nominate Joe Biden?

I do think he has a chance to make some progress if he quickly aligns himself with one of the younger candidates as an early team. Maybe Joe and Pete?

He has the best chance of them to beat Trump and zero chance of winning his party's nomination.

He out two weeks after Super Tuesday unless he gets Hilary treatment

They will bring up his son's fortunes made via the Ukraine and China while he was VP and he will be done. They will eat each other up and it will be fun to watch.

So,
Third times a charm for creepy joe?

Last run he was somewhere around 1%. Guess he’s somehow upped his game since then(?).

Biden
Bern
Beta
Buttagig

What do all these current frontrunners have in common for the whole “woke” idiots on the lunatic fringe?

I guess cause they all start with a B... something like that 04-coffee

RE: Say it ain't so Joe - bobdizole - 04-25-2019 07:32 AM

He is the only one that could stand a chance with the moderate swing states in middle America, and he stands zero chance of getting the nomination

RE: Say it ain't so Joe - Eldonabe - 04-25-2019 07:34 AM

I dunno.... If JB stays out of the "let's see who can out out-left each other" wrestling matches, I think he has a legit chance to knock these people out down the road. Despite the angry petulant millenials who are making all the noise right now, there are A LOT of older liberal Dems too who might pull a Trump-thing and just sit on the sidelines until some of the dust settles.

IMO JB did not get off to a good start though. These morons don't get it. Running on an anti-Trump platform will get them nowhere. They need to put some actual ideas and realistic goals in place rather than just say "don't vote for him - orange man bad"..... There are still too many people smart enough to see through the "get off my lawn" platform as smoke and mirrors.

Zero? He'd certainly do better than Hilary. The thing is he's going to get roasted about medicare for all and the new green deal.

I do agree with the previous poster, running anti-Trump will get you nowhere.

SHOCK POLL: BIDEN OPENS 8-POINT LEAD ON TRUMP

My thought was the same as yours. He has the best chance to beat Trump, but he'll NEVER get the nomination.

The last thing the progressive wing wants is to spend all it's time lecturing us on social justice and being woke then nominate an old straight white guy for President.

I was going to agree; however, Biden immediately played the race card. I guess that will flow with his supporters though.

Well going back to something I said a couple of weeks ago. The extremist personalities tend to be the loudest in volume but fewest in number. I'd be willing to bet the the vast majority of people that vote democratic are more center than progressive left. You'd never know that because MSM wants 24/7 AOC. Maybe if Joe can keep himself out of the muck, no scandles, the true democratic voters might come out in droves to support him in the primaries

Maybe I missed it, I didn't see it as a race card. I saw it as a decency card. Unsure that plays well on that side either.

The whole Charlottesville thing. I guess the D's will spin that as a decency thing. I was hoping Biden would not go that route.

I guess it depends on who wants it more. The reasonable, moderate democrats who want to defeat Trump or the progressive loons that want to introduce socialism that will never win anything off of the coasts.

I guess Biden supporters are hoping that the adage that young people don't vote holds true.

Probably. For some reason the other D (warren, etc) are all in on the young vote. Those people shout from the rooftops yet for some reason don't show up on voting day., at least not historically.

You’re on to something. The only problem being no way ‘foot in mouth’ stays scandal free for seven days straight.

Depends on the state I guess.

The moderates might prevail in a state like Iowa, but here in Wisconsin, the demmies go as Dane County goes, and Dane County is UBER leftist.

As you also pointed out, the MSM wants AOC to be the face of the "movement". Can't imagine they wouldn't try and torpedo Biden at every opportunity.

Although Biden is gaffe machine he will look like an actual adult in debates. He can toss around enough free stuff ideas, and then bury the rest of them on Foreign policy. Even if his positions on FP are less than desirable he knows most of the world leaders on a first name basis. He can talk about being in this country, knowing all of these Presidents, when I was VP we killed more terrorists than anyone blah blah.
