I mean some of those guys shoot it at a really high clip and are damn good players, but my god, you could close your eyes and pick literally any high school kid out of the state of Indiana and they would have the best looking jump shot on this Bearcats team.
Idk what point I’m trying to make and this post might come off the wrong way but being fair, most of their jump shots are ugly. I mean if the ball is in Jarron’s hands in the final seconds, he has to make a play going towards the bucket, because he just can’t shoot over anybody. And yet still he’s arguably the best player in the league. Somehow these guys get it done. Somehow Mick continues to find these types of winning players that nobody else wants. And by god they are fun to root for, even if you have to pull a few thousand hairs out while doing so.
I just don’t understand it. It is truly remarkable...good and bad. I keep trying to draw comparisons to what Mick has built for us and himself and I can’t. I pray for his sake he can break through because he deserves it maybe more than any coach in basketball.
It's called plateauing. Cronin has reached his peak...this is it. If you are happy with this--then the program can stay at this level indefinitely.
If Cronin defines this as progress then you can reasonably assume that this won't change for the foreseeable future. He has as much said this with his "for the fans" quotes.
Honestly, if that's how he really feels, he should skip the tourney, call the season a success, and give our spot to a program that has March penetration as a goal.
However, if the AD wants to reach the next level....they'll have to make a change at some point.

I'm not sure how the Bearcats are going to do today or in the AAC tourney( my gut tells me not well ), but my opinion is their style of Defense and Cumberland will resonate really well in the NCAA tourney. GO CATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UCgrad1992 said he drinks a shot of it before the game because it 'helps uc' lol....so I figured I'd match it up with the Stiffs pic. Of course we are 1-1 since doing that and prior to that, with JUST the stiffs pic we had won 9 in a row or whatever. Maybe I should remove it?

I give the kids the benefit of the doubt today, I think they lay it all out there.
Then, we probably win a couple of games in the AAC tourney(literal couple, IE. two) then win a game and lose a game in the NCAA tournament.
I could also see us lucking out and getting into the Sweet 16 on a hot streak, but I'm not expecting that.

You're simply the best. I can always count on you.
I’m on a roll, baby! Follow me to Vegas. Looking like that 8 seed is coming on strong.

I hope we're still a 6 seed, and hopefully we get Murray State so we can see Ja Morant drop 47 on us.

Benefit of the doubt?! Do I need to remind you that they were playing for a regular season conference title, on senior night, at home...and they did that.

Maybe it's the wrong flavor Ovaltine? I think it comes in Chocolate Malted Milk and Original Malted Milk. Maybe try the Chocolate?

Go back and read the tale of Sisyphus. It describes Cronin and the Cats to a "T".

I don't think we deserve a 6. I think we look like an 8/9 which is a good spot for us...one and done.

I assumed they'd make an effort to close the season, I don't think that's some great leap to make.
I'm not thrilled either, but what are you even on about?

RE: How Do You Think The Cats End Their Season?
I have withheld posting in any thread after the disappointing loss yesterday but will respond here. I'm not going to waste time looking back to the "what ifs" or the "why nots" or the "how comes" with this exception: we finally have an improved conference and folks want to complain every time we lose. We finished as the runner-up in our conference at 14-4. Houston, a top 10 team this year, finished 16-2. They didn't run the table, and in fact, their two losses were wins for us (@Temple and UCF). We also are the #2 seed in the AAC Tournament - nothing to feel crappy about. Our conference has 4 legit bids to the dance. How many does the P12 have?
Moving forward, I'm going to compartmentalize each remaining game. Not going to worry about anything beyond our game on Friday against the SMU/Tulsa winner. Our team typically responds in a good way to a loss, and in the most recent case, back-to-back losses. I can't remember the last time we lost 3 games in a row and that's a good thing.

I don't think we deserve a 6. I think we look like an 8/9 which is a good spot for us...one and done.
I'm kind of with you on this. We definitely don't deserve a 6. I'm hoping for a 7, if we get that I think we lucked out big-time. I think as a team (not computer numbers), the reality is we are much more of a 9, 10, 11 type seed. I don't think I realized just how bad we truly are at PG until this final month. Our PG's just cannot create and get good looks for the other guys on the offensive end and they are both big-time liabilities on defense.
As for the tournaments, I'm thinking we may win one in the AAC and then lose to Wichita/Temple in the semi's. I'm definitely leaning towards us being one and done in the NCAA's.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see the Cats winning another game this season. They just seem out of gas and like they don't care anymore. Hopefully I'm wrong but that was a sorry display yesterday.
