1985 women's basketball...a pyrrhic victory at best..
Speakin' of women's sports, USM has boucoup top 25 wins in Women's softball...
You made the rules. So for those keeping score at home:
Last 20 years of USM basketball: 9
Current year FB & MBB and a single tournament for the rest of us: 10
USM's women's softball eradicates that in an instant....Maybe I left out women's rowing too.
Oh yeah? How many national titles does USM softball have?
And trust me, you don’t want to bring water sports into this.
uhh....softball has beaten lots of top 25 teams, who the frig mentioned national championships? USM doesn't have water sports, or monopoly or painting class...so you got me there.

I said something about national titles.
Your softball sucks
Your baseball is mediocre
Your football is overrated
Your men’s and women’s basketball are Div II level
I doubt you have over 35 top 25 wins in all your sports together.

Geez. They were excited because they had a good start that they haven't had in a while and went a little over board with that. Honestly who wouldn't be so let it go dude. Don't need to rub it in.

we did get to piss on the black bears, cow patties, bowden, AND the Bear on a few occasions....oh yeah, let's not forget that schellenbegger bastage....
we're a shell of our former self on the gridiron against the bigS today....regardless, I'll bleed B&G 'til I pass....
there's a reason many of us reference TTT the way we do....
to this day, this guy was more fun to watch than hooking up with a college frosh or teacher when I was in HS....

I still call bull****.
And what are you calling major sports? Football and Men's Basketball? Because baseball is on the same level as women's basketball.
You should just stop. Really.
Sorry, I forgot to include badmitten, jai alai and debate!
Any idjit knows what the "major sports" are, and while they include women's basketball, there is no long-term Top 25 to gauge who beat who, and you know that.
Speakin' of who beat who, you really can't give any examples of anyone else beating top 25 teams except babbling off about ONE sweet 16 and Horse...errr Field Hockey.
IF you can show me ODU was ranked #1 in several polls through the years...and the rankings of teams they beat...I will concede Field Hockey and stand erected.
If not, YOU stop and STFU.
We beat #25 Syracuse two months ago.
In Field Hockey? Congrats!
I don't have the time and space to record all the Top 25 wins USM has as a program...but it's like The NY Yankees having more World Series wins than anyone else, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PROVE IT, YOU JUST KNOW IT'S TRUE.
The problem is, what you said was wrong and stupidly so. Rice probably has more baseball Top 25 wins than all of our (USM's) sports combines. Likewise with LaTech's women's bball team. Your problem is that you are so focused on USM you don't know anything about our fellow school's histories. If kist Ric's baseball team and LaTech's women's bball team combined have more wins than our combined records then you're wrong before we even consider the other 11 teams Top 25 wins. Football and baseball are our only really strong sports (one great stretch in softball, if that made your list) and football is so few games a year that we'd need to have played all ranked teams for that to help us outweigh some of the other sports. Please stop, you make us all look bad.

They’re winning games and in some they’re flat out beating the dogshittt out of teams. I still don’t know how we beat them down there going off what they’ve done since.
Funny story in re Doc voting for self if he did. I think it was Willie Taggart’s second year and at the preseason football get together he voted Western #1. Admitted it proudly. There was much guffawing and hee-hawing going on. I just shook my head chalking it up to Willie T being Willie T. We were 2-10 the year before I believe.
Willie took 2nd place in the Sun Belt that year and was an overturned first down by Arky State from going undefeated.

Solid call Dahbeed.
IMO, there's 6 teams that can win the tourney....
I have to admiTTT......I like our chances...
we're playing A-1 D, getting open shots from the perimeter and inside, hitting a decent FT%, etc.....Doc's turned this team around like none other since I've been watching southern miss hoops ('75)...
if both our schools win in rnd 2, it'd be lickin' chops to get a rematch with you guys in rnd 3....
this has all the fixin's being a great tourney....
