This could be a viable option for kids who don't want to play college but want professional experience.
Excellent point and love this in so many regards ... there are a number of guys who have no business being on colllege campuses .... without diverting this thread to socioeconomic politics... what a great alternative to college ball for those guys with zero interest in school... really hope it succeeds
No senior coming out of high school is ready to play professional football. Also none that have real talent would risk injury in some semi pro league for 80k per year. There’s a lot more cons than pros if this were even an option. A real talent will not play in that kind of league even if they hate school.

Maybe not NFL ready, but AAF is minor league football. If I was 18 years old and was offered $80,000 a year to play 10 games of football I'd totally consider it. Especially if my choices were go to college and potentially get hurt for $0.00.

Most aren’t even ready for D1 playing time coming out of high school which is why most get redshirted. That idea would last shorter than PJ Flecks NIU coaching career.

A quick update for anyone who cares, Joel Bouagnon is the fifth leading rusher in the league after 3 games.

Just imagine how fast they would have had to fold if the Carolina Hurricane owner hadn't thrown $250 million into it.

RE: AAF
Spurrier's comments were priceless.
In the face of all of this, the 'ole ball coach takes the time to claim the "Championship" on the strength of his team's league-leading record.

RE: AAF
It was entertaining. My issue was they did not have much advertising for when games were one.
