RE: Bracketology
After that lousy OOC start, being in and finishing 3rd in the NCHC actually got us CLOSER to an at large bid than had the same club been in the bus league. That on top of the likelihood that we wouldn’t have had the talent and coaching that we have now makes that implication a non starter.

Finished way below Mankato and a few below BGSU in PWR.. and BGSU's sweep of us kind of supports that. No doubt our win% goes up, but PWR doesn't really care that much about win%. And that's assuming we put together this talented of a team (highly doubt it) or hold on to our coaching staff (lower than 50/50 IMO) while playiing in the WCHA all these years.

Your arguments about the WCHA always seem to exist in a vacuum.

I believe that our program, hockey budget, facilities, and fan base are still pretty much what they were in the CCHA, and aside from being in the NCHA, which may or may not be "bringing in better players", we remain pretty much what we were. I am flabbergasted that I am the only one who thinks that WMU wouldn't be dominant in a the WCHA, or many other D1 leagues. Our win percentage would be much higher, even assuming we weren't getting all these "NCHC level recruits" that folks here talk about. Minnesota State seems to be managing ok with its inferior talent, as does Bowling Green. If WMU were added to many other conferences we would make those conferences better; and for sure we would make the WCHA better.

Being in a "bus league " would be a great thing. I'm not sure why some here think it's better for our program to be required to fly to away games, because they are so far that driving isn't an option, for either the team or students and fans. WMUs accountants would rather we could bus to games. Kalamazoo shares its region with many other D1 hockey schools, which should be an advantage for our budget. Most other hockey conferences are "bus leagues", and in fact I am wondering what other league besides the NCHC wouldn't be.

Who knows what our season results would have been in any other conference. But we do know what they have consistently been where we are.

I’m thrilled we are in the NCHC. I’d only leave if it meant joining the BigTen. Building up attention and attendance would go up. But I doubt that’ll ever be on the table.

I made a general comment, and the response raised the WCHA thing, so I replied. It's funny how sore people get though when I illustrate the obvious. Folks around here hate this issue more and more as years go by. I swear, we could finish in last place for the next ten years in a row, with WMU deciding to eliminate the hockey program, and at the same time have Minnesota State, Bowling Greeen, Lake State, and Michigan Tech all winning National Championships, and you all would still insist you are right about all of this.

It's the end of the season. What has happened over the last six seasons has been exactly what I predicted on this board. It actually is time to reflect. You love the conflict more than anyone DB, which is why you baited my response.

Whatever. Square pegs and round holes.

You act like this season was a failure. Nothing short of a national championship proves you right that we should be in the WCHA.

Maybe you should take that up with the alumni association officer when he braves another deadly blizzard just to talk to you?!03-lmfao

That and I’m not DB.

The rest of your comments are exactly is credible as your last comment.

You are entirely wrong when you say that I think the season was a failure. I actually think this probably the best season we have had since leaving the ccha. That is my point though; our best season in this conference, and still just a third-place finish, with no NCAA bid.

You wouldn't agree with me if I said the sky was blue on a sunny day. and I don't get your point with the alumni officer. You are the one who was always talking about your Gary fund donations. Lol.

You don't remember posting how someone from the university braved a deadly blizzard and drove to visit you? Not surprising, actually.

You’re past comprehension and making sense again tonight.
