We'd be licking our chops with that regional. Would love a shot to knock out the Buckeyes.

RE: Bracketology
Broncos moves up slightly last night with the night off. We are in 13 knocking on the door of 12.
Anyone not in the top 20 is basically mathematically eliminated at this point (barring a conf championship).
Everyone 7 on up is locked in, but realistically everyone top 10 should be safe at this point.
So we have roughly 11 teams fighting it out still for 3-5 spots (dependent on auto bids). Of this 11 teams we are positioned third. A couple will likely get eliminated tonight.

As we sit tonight we are out of the tournament.
Good news is we control our own destiny still.
Bad news, we likely are now in a situation where we need to win both remaining games against CC, and 1 game in the Frozen Faceoff. Anything less is unlikely.

Might as well just lose tomorrow vs CC because getting to the NCHC Finals ain't happening.

Certainly could win against Duluth we’ve proven that.
But there’s also the 3rd place game option too.

Ah. I forgot about that. I would think the loss tonight and another loss in Minnesota would be too many losses.

A 3-1 finish will be enough.
A 4-0 finish could still get us a 3 seed believe it or not.

RE: Bracketology
NCAA tourney update.
WMU is currently sitting 16. A win tonight may/may not move us up. Depending on the Cornell/Union game. Two wins will put us up to as high as 14 (again dependent on the other game).
Ok. The way I see things there are 10 teams that are locked in. For the remaining six spots we know for sure 1 spot will be given to the Atlantic champ. Whoever that is, it is not a bubble team.
That leaves 5 available spots. With only 7 teams that are viable as “bubble teams”. Those odds are decent. However there are still a couple teams playing that are not bubble teams that in theory could steal an auto bid. Colorado College, Penn State, to name a couple. So as we proceed keep that in mind. We might have 5 spots left to fill we
Might have 4 or 3.
Let’s go through the list of bubble teams.
11. Providence is lucky to get a game 3 against BC. If they win tonight they will have built a large enough cushion to be in. If they lose tonight they likely drop to as low as 14, based on next weekend possibilities. That might be enough to lock them in anyway. They have the best shot of any bubble team.
12. Harvard, very lucky to have advanced they trailed in both games against Dartmouth. By advancing they have put themselves in a strong position. A single win locks them in.
13. BGSU has practically played their way in. Even a loss next week to Minn St won’t hurt much. A win might give them a three seed. A loss puts them in the 14 range.
14. Cornell, root against Cornell today. If Cornell loses they fall behind us going into next week, and they are out of games. A win today puts them in front of us, and really makes it hard on us.
15. ND, pretty simple here ND’s chance of getting in as a bubble is really low. They win next week they get the auto bid, a loss likely drops them out without a lot of help. Root for ND to lose.
16. WMU we need to win both game against CC and 1 in Minnesota. Going 2-2 finish will be really hard.
17. Union we have to root for them today even though they are on our heels. They will leap frog us with the win, but if they lose next week they will fall back.
Everyone else is in win out auto-bid mode that’s still playing. Root loudly for OSU to beat Penn St. We want no more auto bids.
WMU finishes and likely Pairwise number.
0-1....doesn’t matter done.
1-1....doesn’t matter done.
2-2....likely 15-18 range. Unlikely getting in.
3-1....likely 12-15 range. Major bubble time.
4-0....auto bid, likely 10-12 range.

Yikes that’s a tall task. Don’t mean to be negative Nancy here but last night was our night to take all the momentum out of CC and force them to win 2 in a row at our place facing elimination.
I’d be shocked if we win tonight and tomorrow, I’m sorry but that’s the way this team has made me feel since we split with Omaha early February.
Be happy to eat my crow.

Penn State is whooping Ohio State. That will boost them in a big way.

OSU is good but I always doubted they would win their league title. So now B1G gets a second team in...…………..Notre Dame or Penn State. Speaking of ND, did anyone watch their OT win last night? I caught it after our game.....disgusting end. Only about three penalties in the game and 30 seconds into OT ref call the MN captain for slashing when the two players sort of brushed together. The announcers lamely said it might have an attempt at a stick lift. It was as if the ref had a plane to catch. Terrible call, letting the refs decide what had been a close contest.
If we play like we did last night and Gorsuch matches last night's performance, I say we win. Score first like last night and we must get more shots on net.
I hope the crowd is close to last night. Go Broncos!

With their win over Ohio State, Penn State is now #16 in Pairwise and were are #17. Have to make it to St. Paul AND win a game.

Looking back, what could have been if we would have beaten SCSU two weeks ago on Friday. That would have pretty much locked us as long as we got to Minni

I haven't played with the calculator but a win over SCSU would have been pairwise "gold." Like most teams with a chance of getting in, we have many shoulda, woulda, couldas. It is what it is. Win tomorrow and continue our season success with UMD and we'll be good. We showed tonight we can get it done.

I know, I agree, just like one more NCHC win or tie would have gotten us Omaha at home instead of CC.
It’s all on the line for this team tomorrow.

The win over SCS would obviously have been valuable, but that would also mean two wins v Omaha
Which would be less than a Col College. so it wouldn’t have been as valuable as you think.

We are basically in a three way tie for 15th. A win tonight gives us sole possession of 15.
It’s pretty simple guys, win tonight and win 1 in Minnesota. That’ll put us in good position.
