WMU is 0-6 and in last place in the MAC. A loss in Kalamazoo would be an embarrassment.
Question answered: EMU led all the way to a very, very impressive win.
We are, believe it or not, one game out of a tie for 3rd place (overall) in the MAC. Behind UB and BG everything is wide open.
I might be the only one here who believes we will finish strong the last 2/3s of the MAC schedule. Every game we will play after the BG game will be (currently) a 4 - 3 or worse MAC team.
We have taken our bitter medicine, duke, kansas, TCU, UB, UB, BG, etc. now it is time to feast on some desert.

Sorry the end of January is the right month for drinking Kool Aid
Lot of "Debbie Downers" on this board over a team which is 3 - 4 in conference with 3 losses to teams with a combined 12 - 2 record.
I was very impressed with the wins @BSU, Kent and @WMU.
As far as drinking Kool Aid. Do folks in the Midwest turn dour in January which is cold, cloudy, snowy and quite frankly not a pleasant month?
Being a realist does not equate to being a Debbie Downer. Many of us can see the fact that 10-8 in MAC play is the ceiling for Murphy. The team will never be one of the dominant MAC teams and that's what we want.
Look at BG. They are getting praise for rising to the top and being part of that difficult schedule you keep reminding us of. WHEN WILL EMU BE LIKE THAT??? BG was a MAC bottom feeder just a year or two ago (although Murphyball always seemed to struggle with them).
Many of us are not content with .500 and an occasional semi-final tournament appearance. I'm also disturbed by how Murphy's teams tend to disappear in one of those big games against the top teams. The wheels fall off easily.
Time for change.
11 - 7 last year already exceeded 10 - 8.

I just want to play the season and see how we do. I'm don't want to quit on the season in which we might get ANOTHER bye to CLE.
BTW, it is sunny outside my window. Guess I'm in an optimistic mood.

RE: Game Week: BG and @WMU
Guys we are 3 - 1 vs. Akron, BSU, Kent and WMU and 3 were road games. Two of the wins (BSU and WMU) were road wins. The one loss was close on a missed shot late.

You’re the man Nickle.
Now we’re going to start padding our record against the dregs to save Murphy’s job, just like always. And the seals will applaud, just like always.
Keep it real.

I just don't get 'you guys'.

I can here folks with EMU MBB saying: "Hey, leave the 2017-8 team out of this discussion..."
We were 11 - 7 in conference and lost very late in the semis of the MAC tourney. Was that a bad year? Was that the same as below .500 MAC seasons...
People here seem to be implying that 2017-8 was a downer year. Quite the contrary. After a slow star within conference the team went on a nice long streak and played very well.
Why would anyone lump 2017-8 with the preceding season??? What do they have in common?
In the last 3 completed seasons we were: 9 - 9, 7 - 11, and 11 - 7.

I'm not sure I agree with this statement on several counts:
1). There is only one 'dreg' in the conference and that, to date, appears to be WMU.
2). The MAC is very strong this year and EMU and Murphy don't set the conference schedule. We play the hand we are dealt by the league office. And we were not dealt a good hand to start with UB twice in the first two weeks.
3). And we have beaten BSU and Kent, both in the top half of the MAC and BSU was on the road. And even a weak WMU team was on the road and the victory was very impressive.
