In Memoriam (those who passed in 2018/9)
I just got the EMU mag and saw the "In Memoriam" section.

Roger Coryell (April, 2018). I believe it had been mentioned here.

Patrick Doyle (didn't know him but remember him as a VP business and finance).

Al Lavan - Think his passing was mentioned. Those who have followed EMU FB for years remember him as an interim FB HC in 2003.

Jack Minzey - I knew him (by face and name) but not really personally through Bill Fennel, Bert Greene, and other emeritus faculty. I do also remember his widow some. Met both after a couple EMU MBB games with Bill Fennel. This is the Dom Doughnuts crew. They met there after games and I believe Fridays.

Dear Friends,
Larry Ratcliff, as we knew him, had the spelling of his last name changed to Radcliff. Coming this summer Larry will have been gone two years. My brother and I attended his funeral, and that's when I found the name change.
He was in my mind one of the best running backs to ever play for Eastern. He was of a different era, but could tear up opposing defenses with his running ability.

Dear Friends,
I stand corrected. After checking on Larry Radcliff he did pass away last June, not two years ago as I originally stated. Alzheimer's setting in.

RE: In Memoriam (those who passed in 2018)
2019. I remember when President Obama gave him the Medal of Honor a few years ago.

He is a fmr. EMU student and died in Ypsilanti earlier this month.

"He was studying engineering at Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) in Ypsilanti when he was drafted into the Army in 1951. He was commissioned as a lieutenant in 1953, then discharged in 1956 and opened an auto dealership."

"Mr. Kettles, who died on Jan. 21 in Ypsilanti, Mich., at 89"

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/27/obitu...e=Homepage

This is sad as a number of the older generation of EMU folks are dying, like Bill Fennel, Jack Minzey, and now Charles Kettles.
