I will attend the Myrtle Beach Invitational
Trying to get my posse together
Myrtle also has a big high school tourney around that time
Penny gonna give them a look at what it's like to run a Pro Style game

We've lost 3 in a row vs Ole and are 4-6 against them since 2000.

If we're going to play them, we need to start beating them again....

It is a tough drive for away games. Nashville and Memphis will always hate each other regardless of the players or coaches. Plus it is an easy drive.

Vanderbilt isn't "Nashville."

Vanderbilt is Vanderbilt.

Yes, but Arkansas isn't Arkansas. At least not the Arkansas we all remember. Playing a top ten UT and/or a borderline top 25 Ole Miss is way better than playing a sub 70 Arkansas team. Of course you could also say the same thing about football. Would playing a 2-10 Arkansas team really help our S.O.S?

Playing Arkansas in football is not a "strength of schedule" issue. It is a way to build national brand name while simultaneously pumping up the Memphis fan base. Those are the kind of games that add dedicated season ticket holders to the fold, because it says we are playing "real" teams with real brand names.

Who hasn't beaten C of C lately? They have a losing record in whatever craphole conference they're in.

I would love to see Louisville as well. I live near Louisville now and a lot of Louisville fans love reliving the old battle stories and can name all our players from the matchups with the cards. Went to both games in Louisville the last time they were here under josh and the Louisville fans were great and love the matchup as wel.

I’d rather play Louisville than Kentucky and think it’s a lot more realistic. Rupp Arena is a dumpster and cal will never play in the FedExForum again. ( unless it’s a regional site etc)

I think we played Northeastern in the NIT some years back when they had JJ Berea? Maybe that was one of Cals years like the year Darius missed the free throws

I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the administration tapped the athletic department/basketball team on the shoulder and asked them to schedule a team in the upper Northeast. A growing number of schools are doing this in order to increase exposure in other regions of the country and god knows Boston is an academic and intellectual hub. If so, good on Penny and the team and I hope it helps in recruiting as well.

I don't know about that. If TV shakes enough money Cal will dance at center court.

And playing Northeastern is a mystery. Why man?

They are good, would improve our tiddlywinks RPI.

it was combined with a hockey match between to the two schools.

That's cool.

According to the CA article, Northeastern will actually pay Memphis $45k at the completion of the contract.

Fair enough, I think their arena is historic or something. May be fun.

Qucik check to see if any 2020/21 kids are in the Boston area....

My exact thoughts as well....04-cheers

For those that didn't Precious is a recruit we are after from the north east. Would be an easy drive for his family to see him play
