Great news. Would love to see games against Tennessee and Ole Miss and Arkansas every season. Say what you want but fans love these games. The atmosphere is great but the water cooler talk is the best.

Why are we agreeing to play Northeastern on a 2-1 deal? Is it recruiting or financial driven or some opaque reason?

Road wins, of any kind, are highly valued. If we are as good as we hope to be next year. Ranked 117 NET, 98 KenPom, it would be a big road win and boost to our overall rankings. If we can't beat Northeastern on the road, well, then, we aren't as good as we'd hoped.

I am ok with road games but I do not understand the reasons for selecting Northeastern when a plethora of more desirable options appear to exist (eg, Boston College).

I wouldn't play Arkansas is tiddlywinks until they agree to deliver that football game they owe us. Until then, they can go F themselves. Of course I am sure they could care less.

And playing Northeastern is a mystery. Why man?

The Tigers have also signed a contract to play in the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Nov. 21-24. Mississippi State, Villanova, Baylor, Utah, Middle Tennessee State, Ohio and Coastal Carolina are also scheduled to be part of the event.

I want Arkansas back, we had some great games against them when Penny was a player. I'd love to have Louisville too but that rivalry is dead, unfortunately.

According to the CA article, Northeastern will actually pay Memphis $45k at the completion of the contract.
