LOL. Mizzou is going to trade the SEC for the PAC??
Just think Larry had his hands on the Texoma 4 and settled for Utah. I guess it gave the Utes a lifeline.
I think the PAC should give Houston a lifeline as well. Big market, sold out stadium
The PAC16 was never that close to happening because
1) UT wanted unequal revenue sharing and their own network the whole time, but only made that demand once things got serious.
2) PAC presidents wanted no part of Oklahoma State
Scott's mistake was not entertaining UT's proposal for unequal revenue and the LHN. If the PAC yields to those demands, then in turn the PAC demands better partners; no TTu and OKSU tag-alongs. That's my premise.
Should have added that the PAC buys and adopts the WAC name. The new *WAC* is really three conferences merged: the PAC as its western division and a WAC (ASU, AZ, Utah) + Big8 (KU, Mizzou, OU, CU) hybrid headlined by UT as its eastern division. Mizzou is lost in the SEC untethered from its historic rivals. KU, Mizzou, CU, OU, UT, UU, AZ, ASU would give them a more sustainable platform for competition.

I could live with that. Just wish the schools weren't so spaced out that would allow for more travel to away games.

Fortunately, you have no say. Larry Scott visited Lubbock with an invitation in hand.
Utah only got in when UT said thanks but no thanks.

The CAA adds UNCG and Stony Brook and splits into two 6 team North/South divisions playing 16 conference games. This would require only 3 trips above/below the MasonDixon line for each school per year. One of those trips could be accomplished in one swoop as there are natural travel partners. If the NCAA allows 14 games then that would work as well and would be preferred.
Basically since a split is not realistic due to NCAA rules, treat it as much as two separate conferences that share an auto bid
Northern schools would either do a swing in Greensboro or the Charleston/Wilmington combo, doing the VA schools individually
Southern schools would either do a swing in NY or Phily, doing Northeastern or Towson individually
A southern division tournament and a northern division tournament would be hosted by the divison champion in early week 1 of championship week. The two winners would play at the home court of the winner with the highest NET ranking in week 2 of championship week for the auto bid.
This seems like a sound move. It's a very large footprint for an East Coast Conference. Regional groupings would be more suitable. Fairfield should als be considered as the northern add.

If I was the MVC czar, I would boot Loyola, Evansville and Valpo. Add North Dakota State, South Dakota State and Murray State.

Probably but I'd love to see them hide the number 21 in the logo somewhere.

It would be interesting to see the 5 public schools pull out of the MVC to join the Summit.
The Summit would then do their best to make PUFW and ORU leave to end up at 12 members.

Require all Big East schools to play football. (Three down, seven to go.)

I believe that when Creighton left that had the Valley tried they could have found 8-9 FBS schools to join and become an FBS league.

I have tried to refrain from responding to any posts on here because it is about what the poster would like and not about real life, but I will make an extremely rare exception and actually comment for once: even though Loyola started out shaky, they have proven themselves in gold, IMO, with their recent past performances. Loyola deserves to stay, IMO.

Certainly ... and with more credibility than at any time in its history. I remember the days of the Big 2 and Little 8, but that lineup is getting pretty close to having 10 Big schools in it.

This would make a lot of sense for a league as large as the CAA.
CAA North:
Northeastern
Stony Brook
Hofstra
Drexel
Delaware
Towson
CAA South:
William and Mary
JMU
Elon
UNCG
UNCW
College of Charleston
If JMU leaves, you could replace them with somebody like a Hampton or maybe a southern school (like Mercer, Furman or North Florida).

Wake Forest converts to Lutheranism, and the Big East declares this is"close enough" to Catholicism to warrant an invite to that conference. Wake exits the ACC without an ugly struggle and West Virginia is invited to backfill them.
