So under your system UC only lost to UCF. Right?

Army has more credibility in the eyes of the pollsters because they are a military academy, are Independent and because of their history. Despite being a member of this conference, Navy gets the same.

IMHO....Army is ranked to give Oklahoma's resume a boost to make the final 4.

Same reason Northwestern is ranked (losses to Akron and Duke, 3 point win over Rutgers, 4 point win over Iowa, 8 point win over Illinois). Can't have an unranked team in the Big Ten championship game.

Agreed.

Michigan gets torched for 62 points and loses by more than three touchdowns. Think if UCF (or any G5) had played and lost by that margin in Columbus they'd be ranked #8 today? Not only would they not be in the top ten, all the naysayers would come out suggesting they've been overrated all along. A no win proposition in this caste system.

The polls are beauty contests at best. Unfortunately, they do generate substantially more media exposure for the ranked schools, hence more attention from fans and recruits. It's too bad UC couldn't get back in there this week. Your post demonstrates why.

I root for Army but I would love to play them in the Military Bowl and we would destroy them.

Basically it’s a close loss to Oklahoma that’s keeping them ranked. They played an awful schedule. I would take UC’s wins over Ohio, USF, Tulane, SMU, and UCLA over everything they did.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how the Fountain West is getting the rankings in lieu of others in the G5. So much for our self-proclaimed P6.....

Must be Utah state's close loss to mediocre Michigan St. that's carrying them.
