RE: Delaware @ JMU 3pm 11/24
Damn it. I ASSumed like everyone else since Sept, that JMU would have a bye. Figured a work committment on Thanksgiving weekend (can't get out of), with the next 3 weekends & Frisco off, would make all the playoff games. Damn it. 03-banghead

Oh well. I'm actually about equal distance to Colgate. Should make that.

UD/Rocco - JMU

You never know.

Last year's game was one of our closest. We were plus one in TOs and won the game by only 10.

We're playing well and they are not, but it's UD/Rocco - JMU, you never know.

I'm more confident about Colgate than UD.

It would be interesting to know what Delaware bid for the game.
JMU got it right so hats off to Bourne.
The painful experiences of underbidding in the past have evolved into sage wisdom.

How does it feel chicken fans?

No doubt - props to JMU for making the right bid.

The only thing worse than not being seeded yesterday, would of been going to Delaware. That would of been more painful than to have not been seeded.

Nope, bid packages are still submitted, and in the case of JMU v. UD, bid amount seems most likely the key thing. UD's stadium and attendance didn't likely play a big role. Item #2 is essentially the bid amount.

From a prior thread (again):

The official hosting criteria for non-seeds is now:
1) quality of facility
2) revenue potential plus estimated net receipts
3) attendance history and potential
4) team’s performance (conference place finish, head to head results, number of Div I games)
5) student athlete well being (travel and missed class time)

Bid packages are still submitted. Some folks question whether the primary (only?) criteria is the bid amount, or the other factors matter too.

RE: Delaware @ JMU 3pm 11/24
At Towson on Saturday I am guessing that there was around 1500-2000 JMU fans there. Our group sat in the top few rows. I felt we were loud and into it for the entire game. I do wonder sometimes how loud are we? do we have an effect? During this morning's CAA coaches call-in, I got the answers I was hoping to hear when Coach Ambrose talked about how loud we were and how well we traveled and that his players were a bit shook up by it and had never experienced that kind of crowd before at a home game. I just want those same folks and thousands more to do it again this Saturday. We are the 12th man!

Give a listen around the 7:25 mark he talks about the JMU game.

I listened to it this afternoon and was surprised he was so complimentary of us. At the same time, he was incredibly critical of how the fans were treated in the past and how they are now having to bring them back. It sounded like something happened that ticked the fans off. Anyone know? I got the feeling it was something outside of the game.
I was never a big fan of Ambrose but I got to say I liked him a little bit more after listening. He did have some nice things to say about our fan base and Coach Houston and the program as a whole.

We were in the 2nd to last row and my voice was feeling it on Sunday. When we went to Fargo, their fans were impressed with how loud we were, too. Loud and Proud!

I'm confident in the Dukes and therefore will pose the question .. is there a possibility that the semifinals could be held at bridgeforth stadium ??

Delaware .. Colgate .. NDSU .. Elon .... I want to beat them all .. all those years Delaware beat up on us .. haven't bought Colgate toothpaste since that terrible day a few years back .. ndsu fans are beyond annoying and need a sense of humility and we need revenge on the Phoenix .. if you didn't get pumped after watching coach Houston on espnu you don't have a pulse .. let's go dukes !!

Or Elon (with Cheeks & Summers, Elon would have a good chance. Without them, remote chance).

If SDSU beats TU, they're likely going to have to face the triple option in the quarterfinals either @ KSU, or home vs Wofford. When was the last time SDSU faced the triple option? To my knowledge, no one in the MVFC runs it, and they don't have the defense that NDSU has had in the playoffs when facing it (2-0 vs GSU & 2-0 vs Wofford) or YSU did in 2016 vs Wofford, to stop it.

If Towson or Wofford shocks the world.

I like the odds of non-seeds taking out Kennesaw and SDSU. Towson would be my pick to do it, but even Elon might have a shot.

After last year, I think of SDSU as a paper tiger that just has NDSU's number. We were so "worried" because they were a member of the Sagarin annointed MVFC. If they easily crush Towson by more than 14 points, I'll start to get concerned again.

Haven't read up at all on it...are Cheeks and Summers possibilities to be back for the playoffs?
