LOL. Elmore is a fine player. But he is without a doubt King Flop of Flopville.

And gets really whiny when he doesn’t get a call. His handle in traffic is spectacular especially with his change of speed. He gets people off balance and initiates contact often followed by a flop like Karl Malone took him out.

None of that means he’s a bad player. Nobody is saying that. But to even intimate he’s not a flopper means you’re wearing Bill Laimbeer glasses. Or really like watching soccer.

RE: WKU picked 1st by the Coaches
Admittedly my sample size of watching Elmore and his Herd is going to be much smaller than the typical Marshall fan's sample, but each time I watch it seems like one part of his game is drawing fouls. It's within the rules, just like how flailing and screaming in soccer to try and draw a yellow card is within the rules. It doesn't mean we have to like it, and it doesn't mean Marshall fans can't admit their best player has that card up his sleeve. It's part of his game, even though it's a controversial way to play the game. I don't mean offense by this, but I wish someone with all his talent would just play the game with honor rather than try the flop game.

Maybe he learned it watching the best PG in the NBA do it; Chris Paul.

Good player...always frustrating playing against someone that does flop around consistently. Kinda wish Caver would do the same thing to draw some fouls.

I'm a Marshall fan and yes Elmore is king of flop, but not sure how someone can call this dishonorable lol.

It's part of his game. He's a great FT shooter and it gets other teams players in foul trouble. It's very SMART is what it is. Also think we will be better this year than last year but we will find out soon.

You're right, dishonorable was a terrible word to use. That's what I get for posting at 5am. It is certainly frustrating to watch from the perspective of an opposing fan.

Lol. So it’s not dishonorable. It’s a chickenshittt way to play the game. It’s fakery.

It’s the guy you’re playing pickup ball against and he waits to see if his shot drops before calling a foul. Your team is headed the other way after his miss and he’s yelling “hold up....I got a foul there”

He’s that guy.

It’s EXACTLY like those guys in soccer.

I still think he’s a fantastic player in spite of how I feel about his fakery. He’s a kid that has obviously worked his freaking butt off on his handles. That’s where he excels to me. I don’t think he has a great looking shot from 3. He hits them and some of them outrageous when he’s hot. But I don’t consider him a pure shooter from deep. I don’t remember his % being all that high. He makes his living at the free throw line where he’s really good.

Wouldn't totally shock me if Old Dominion were to win the regular season. They have a favorable conference schedule, and Providence transfer Dajuon Dickens has been declared immediately eligible. Out of high school he had offers from the likes of Virginia and Virginia Tech. Depending on how the LSU transfer comes along, they might be quite good.

We're having a quiet little party about this news over on our home forum.

Dajour Dickens may not himself be a game-changer, but he'll give us some real depth where it's most needed.

What a world it would be to get 3 teams in the dance from C-USA.

That would be absolutely outstanding. We really have solid squads at the top year in and out and sneaky good teams at any time. We need that jolt and recognition to happen asap. I'm hoping we get 2 in this year. Nobody wants to play our top 2 or 3 in rd 1.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

WE know that. But from what I’ve seen out of the committee they’re looking for any excuse to exclude now. Not paranoia. It’s gotten worse each year.

Marshall has no chance getting in last year except win tourney. They win fairly comfortably over big favorite. Same same the two previous years.

But we still get no respect. I thought the top 4 last year was as good as I’ve seen since the late 80’s when Sun Belt got 4 in. No way that happens now. I went back on Ken Pom site and CUSA had not had a top 4 like we had as far back as I went. There were years they had a top 3 but not 4. Last year was special.

Marshall should be good to go from day 1. Very unique system and the longer they’re in it the better they get at it. I like it. Fun basketball. I wouldn’t hate it here at all.

ODU is always GOOD. Last year they were very good. Middle had a very good team last year. If we had hit our last second shot against Marshall or the tip I think we do the same as Marshall in the first round.

I think we have a chance to be very, very good this year but have a tough early schedule and things may not fall as great as they did last year with the early tourney success. But this is the most talent I’ve seen on a team at Western since the Clem Haskins teams in the late 80s.

I think our conference will be extremely tough to win but not sure it spells for us to get more than 1 in. These committees will put no credence in us winning first round games 3 years running against prohibitive favorites.

Yep, now we'll have two 7-footers for the first time that I can remember as a fan. Still going to be awfully difficult to win this conference and there's a reason WKU is picked #1. Lots and lots of talent.

I think it is our year to shine. I think we will finally have several teams make noise in OOC play, along with the new conference scheduling system, will keep 4 teams in the RPI Top 50 late in the season. One will go to the NIT, the other 3 will make the dance. Calling it now.

I'm serious. I think this is the year we get 2 teams in the tournament.

I would take 2 teams making it but I would be shocked if we get 3 teams in, where would the 12 ACC and 10 SEC teams go? Pac12 after last season in big dance should be regulated to only 1 team making it to NCAA tournament03-lmfao03-lmfao

Yeah, 3 is a stretch, but I will take the optimism any day. Even to get 2 the cards have to fall just right, both our top teams need to meet in the finals. I'm excited for pods too

Three man weave had TCU picked 4th. That's awesome.

I think Washington will be a loss right out of the gate. They're too experienced and they're at home. Last year we played in the Bahamas and that really helped us to be game ready earlier in the season. Hopefully we will win more than we lose in that brutal schedule.
