RE: Jacob Evans with the Golden State Warriors
He got some nice bank if it doesn’t work out. He got to spend 4 months with the best players in the game. Besides Durant god gifted talent...Steph, Klay, and Green all had to work extremely hard to become the players they are. Jacob hopefully saw that and I think he’ll put the work in. Also they have the best culture in NBA. Jacob was shown a great opportunity and I believe he’ll be just fine. They also have the best bench in the league so instead of averaging 4 minutes a game it may be a blessing to go to work now and get game action to truly improve.

"Kid" is going to make 3.5 million in 2 years. He can always go back to school. He can't always make that type of money.

Ditto. Jake was extremely lucky that he was the last pick in the first round. Had he gone any lower, then we could classify his departure as a mistake.

Amazing that even on a team as offensivley loaded as the Warriors, they won't carry a good defensive player with limited offensive skills.

NBA job = tough gig.

p.s. Did anyone notice the part where they said Jake needs to get bigger and stronger? I wonder if that is true.

RE: Jacob Evans with the Golden State Warriors
If he came back to school and his slump continued like it seems to have he may have gone undrafted. He easily made the right call. And I'm not worried about his long term prospects. Hes got the size/athleticism and defensive ability to carve out a long career. He shot over 40% from 3 for most of his college career until his late season slump. He'll find it an play in the league for a long time.

RE: Jacob Evans with the Golden State Warriors
I thought I heard the GSW staff is actively changing his jump shot form because they were worried about the lack of arc on his 3-pointers. If true, of course he's going to struggle. And the organization knows that.

Coupled with the fact he's on the most talented roster in the NBA, and I don't think this is a huge surprise.

As others have pointed out, he made the jump at the perfect time as he's making bank.

Give him a year to get used to his new shot and for the Warriors roster to open up, and we'll see what Evans can really do.

I think Jacob will be fine, he will get much needed playing time plus he is getting payed. I don't see how it would have been better for him to have stayed he can improve in the D-league just as much as he could have at UC.

lol the extra year I’m talking about isnt for studying, it would be to improve his game. Yeah he’s making good money no doubt about it and I’m happy for him but the bottom line is he was a first round draft pick who is now demoted to the G league. My original point is still valid - he probably needed another year of college basketball.

I expect him to be a total first round bust. Sad so sad.

KD and Boogie are gone next year. Not sure how much longer the Warriors keep Iggy, Livingston, etc. Even Klay might bounce at some point. Time will tell.

Klay will probably get a supermax from someone if he goes to free agency, and GS wouldn't be able to match if they kept KD. It's basically going to be an odd-man-out situation between Curry-Klay-Green-KD, unless KD decides to go this summer when he opts out. Iguadala is getting up there, but they'll keep him and Livingston for bench/locker room reasons as long as they accept the veteran minimum.

So my son spotted Jacob getting up from the bench on a time out yesterday. He told me, and And I looked up just in time to see him.it was so nice to see him.

Does anyone know is he still going back And forth with the GL? Hopefully they’re just a grooming him for a year. Like that big man they have from UCLA. I think this is his second year and they said that he improved a lot in the last year. I saw him make a nice move and dunk.

Just checked and he has 11 games played. My guess is that most of those were earlier in the year. I’ll try to check occasionally.

His weakness right now is shooting form. Who would rather be taking shooting lessons from, Steve Kerr or Mick Cronin?

This is a great point. Wish he were here but he is an nba level player in all the areas Cronin excels at teaching already. He needs development in areas where nba training can better serve him.
