FCS Rankings
Looks like we remained in second place in all of the FCS Rankings except Hero Sports, am I correct?

RE: FCS Rankings
Don't think so. Most haven't come out yet.

We should be #4/5 in most. Plenty of time to right the ship and get a top 4 seed.

RE: FCS Rankings
Selection committee rankings will trump whatever the polls say.

Having said that, I think we need to win out, and win the CAA title (meaning Maine and Elon drop a game each) to get a top 4 seed now.

Winning the rest in convincing fashion would help.

RE: FCS Rankings
It brings up an interesting point about Elon's game being cancelled and how that will effect their chances of winning the CAA with one less game being played than most others whom appear to be in contention. Just win out baby!

Based on CAA conference rules, if Elon loses a game, and Maine loses two while JMU wins out, JMU should get the title. If Maine drops one and JMU wins out, it goes to tiebreakers.

Normally the first tiebreaker is head-to-head results, but since JMU would have a higher win-loss PERCENTAGE over Elon, it should not go to a tiebreaker in this scenario.

Elon controls their destiny ... they win out, they get the title.

Who gives a crap about winning the CAA? Has little bearing on who is seeded higher in the playoffs. Simply means the CAA will be in the tournament.

I think we should care about winning the CAA? Why else play? Should we not care about winning the National Championship either? Don't mean to be rude, just wondering why shouldn't we want to win?

Dropped way too much. That’s slot voting, plain and simple.

Yep. No issue with Elon going ahead of us, we lost to them.

But ... Kennesaw, seriously?

SOS doesn't seem to matter unless you are NDSU/SDSU. Don't believe NDSU fell that far when they dropped a game to SDSU last year.

Actually, Elon is not ranked higher than us. We are both tied for #6 in the STATS poll.

But, Elon is #6 in the Coaches poll with the Dukes dropping all the way to #8. Kennesaw St. all the way up to #2 in this poll.

I guarantee if NDSU lost to UNI they would still be #1 today. This is MVFC bias and it sucks. They are the absolute worst

RE: FCS Rankings
My poll vote over on AGS was as follows for the top 8...

1. NDSU
2. Elon
3. EWU
4. Towson
5. KSU
6. JMU
7. SDSU
8. Wofford

I guess I put more emphasis on actual results than the other 2 voter pools.

RE: FCS Rankings
While I believe there is MVFC bias ... last year

SDSU (#10) beat NDSU (#2)
NDSU fell to #5, SDSU rose to #6 in Stats poll.

So, there was some impact in the public polls, but not as much. What sucks is schools with easier schedules (eg Kennesaw) can rate highly, and do often score high seeds as well. The committee does a little better than the public polls, but also tends to undervalue SOS, and award high seeds to SLC teams, etc.

The AGS poll feels a tad more reasonable, and that one has heavy MVFC/Bison voting too.

Yeah I’ve struggled with how to rate KSU. If they keep winning big I feel like they should stay about where I have them. If they start winning close to bad teams they may get jumped.

Ranked 5th in the AGS poll. Usually find that to be the most accurate (NDSU bias notwithstanding). We win out and I still feel we'll get a seed.
