Toledo - Marshal
Toledo - Temple

I like both of those. Not a bad bowl match-up for a down year.

Tampa - could be playing in your backyard.... Maybe sneak your son out there to play some defense for us...

OR

We play the cheaters from Huntington.

Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl

Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
Dec. 20, 8 p.m. (ESPN)

Bonagura: Toledo vs. Temple

Sherman: SMU vs. FIU

Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl

Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, Nassau, Bahamas
Dec. 21, 12:30 p.m. (ESPN)

Bonagura: Louisiana Tech vs. Miami (Ohio)
Sherman: Marshall vs. Toledo

I had no idea that they were playing the game at Raymond James...in years past, it was played at Tropicana Field. I’ve heard they may try and match up USF and FSU if FSU can beat the Gators and become bowl eligible.

As for my son...I’d love to have him suit up for UT. We’ll see what happens this spring & summer. He’s a late bloomer, having played baseball his entire life up until this year. It’s his 2nd year of football, but he’s starting at SS for Plan, which is one of the top schools in Florida. He’s 5’11 170lbs and can easily pack on another 15-20lbs by next season. We’re in the Regional finals this week vs. Lakeland. I hope the UT coaches have made some visits to Lakeland. They are stacked with talent...4* DE, 4*TE, 4* RB(jr), 3*DE, etc...

I don't see how any number of extra practices gained by going to a bowl game and playing in one is going to improve performance or better prepare this team for 2019.

If they make a bowl, obviously your opinion is set on it possibly being a futile effort and a waste of time and resources...
Hopefully JC and co. will prove you wrong...
You have to stick with the team, things will get better !!

Too many stupid mistakes and penalties by this defense, just too frustrating to watch them play, been a problem all season and I doubt it gets fixed for any bowl game . And I was one of the few on these board the stood by the 2017 MACC for a great season after the App Bowl and when they were ripped by most.

And what makes anyone think that this team will perform any better than last years? Been too many dumb penalties and mistakes all season on this defense, makes it frustrating to watch and not improving as season proceeds. And I was one of few on here defending 2017 MACC team for a great season, while others bashed coaches and players for ruining the season and making Rockets look bad on national TV.

34-0, it could only be better. I can see improvement in the run game and think were doing a better with some aspects of the Defense. Koback needs 225 rushing yards to make 1,000 yds as a Freshman. I'd love to see that.

good solid win today, especially for the seniors on their last home game, nice to see a decent turnout by the fans (15,000+), still not impressed by turnovers and dumb penalties at times, and hope defense and entire team prepares hard and comes to play at their bowl game this season.

Would make some sense. We haven’t been there yet while other MAC teams have. And, I’m not sensing a huge interest in the general fan community for a trip to a bowl game (not those of us on this Board, but many I’ve talked to are just moving on to hopes for next season), so we may as well go someplace far (even Boise would be OK if we’re just going for the practice). Hope the athletic department has been working on passports for everyone just in case!

A players dad told me before the Kent game that the players and staff have had passports for some time now ...

I wonder if that's standard operating now for all teams?

Bahamas has a high travel advisory. Doesn't sound like much of a vacation paradise. More like a prison tour.

Went to the Bahamas in 2016 (see my avatar).

Just stay on the island (Paradise Island) where all the tourism is.

That is very safe.

MAC teams/teams on Toledo's schedule that are bowl eligible -

Buffalo is 10-2

Ohio is 8-4

Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan are 7-5

Miami is 6-6

Fresno State is 10-2

Miami of Florida and Nevada are 7-5

And if you're thinking about 2019 and want to take a look at teams on UT's schedule, these non-conference teams on next year's schedule are bowl eligible now -

Kentucky is 10-2

Brigham Young is 6-6

Non-conference teams on the 2019 schedule not in postseason play in 2018 -

Colorado State finished 2018 3-9

Murray State (in the FCS) finished 5-6

Ft Collins(Colorado State) is the Napa Valley of Beer. Something like 25+ Micro Breweries. Lots of outdoor activities too.

Eh, he has WMU against Ok St in the Military Bowl. Marshal won by losing.

Middle Tenn? Again as last year, no slight to the opponent's abilities and they had a very good year but it's of no interest. That bowl wouldn't be worth giving up Senior year Christmas Break, if I were a player. I wouldn't fault them in the least for saying, "next man up." Same for the Middle Tenn players.

You can bet that at least 1 MAC team will be uninvited so that a 6-6 power conference school can get a bowl. Miami of Ohio is on the chopping block & maybe even someone else is my guess.
