I cringed hard at the woman who thanked God. People that think like that are so far gone, it's not even funny. She legitimately thinks she "won" something by Jones being de-platformed.

I saw the clip on youtube. I agree with him. As the old saying goes, a broken clock is right twice a day.

He's the old school liberal, not one of these socio-facist new school libs.

As an old school liberal, he understands the importance of free speech. I also think he understands that society & people are like a pendulum, the people passing judgement on what constitutes "accepted speech" could find themselves on the other end of the "banned speech" argument in no time.

As hard as it is to swallow, protecting the speech of the people you completely disagree with protects YOUR speech, which is something Maher gets, but that smug "thank God" woman doesn't.

BTW, hey lady, it's the height of arrogance to think that YOUR opinion matters and those you disagree with do not. With any luck, that pendulum will come back to bit her in the backside.

So what? He said something right for once. How long has he had his show? In all that time I know of two instances where he said something like this. It's usually BS tripe.

I agree. Maher is an unabashed leftie, but he’s not afraid to call out his own side. He’s taken a lot of flack from liberals for his views on radical Islam, but he’s hasn’t backed off them.
