Still is. They won two years ago due to a missed too many men on the field call. We paid them back last year by spanking their booty despite being a 1 win team to that point.

US Navy keeps kicking Pirate's teeth in. Not much of a rivalry.

Makes me more interested in grabbing a win next time.

RE: AAC Rivarly Week Scheduling
I for one am shocked the Battle for the Trident hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. It's been thrown around as a half joke by Tulane's fan twitter, but the game with Navy has been one our fans have really liked since they joined. I'd love to see it as a set rivalry week game for us.
Honestly is it just me or is the conference testing out a possible set rivalry schedule this year? I don't hate it overall.
UCF-South Florida
ECU-Cincinnati
Houston-Memphis
Temple-UCONN
Navy-Tulane
SMU-Tulsa

This is what I would try given the current divisional layout. Obviously the only one you could call a true rivalry would be the two Florida schools but overtime I think something could develop out of this arrangement.

I think SMU and Houston are the most natural rivals in the AAC - same conference for 34 years, in-state and Dallas vs.Houston.

RE: AAC Rivarly Week Scheduling
We just need to commit to a final game of the season for all teams and stick with it for a few years. I think Temple/Navy is a natural one due to their close proximity. Like UCF/USF, very easy to get to. After that it gets murky. SMU-Houston is a natural one but the Houston-Memphis games have been fire recently. I'll go with these:
UCF-USF
Navy-Temple
UCONN-Cincinnati
Houston-SMU
Memphis-Tulsa
Tulane-ECU
The other variant I could see working:
UCF-USF
UCONN-Temple
Navy-ECU
Cincinnati-Memphis
Houston-SMU
Memphis-Tulane

RE: AAC Rivarly Week Scheduling
I'm not sure that Memphis has a natural rivalry in the conference but the teams we've played the most times are Cincinnati, Tulane, Tulsa, Houston, and East Carolina. The non-conference teams we've played the most are Southern Mississippi, Ole Miss, Louisville, Mississippi State, and Tennessee.

Memphis gets 2 rivals and Tulsa gets none? No fair!

If you want to finish the season with the same match-ups every year, you can't make any of those games cross-divisional.
