I see a parking garage I think that would be helpful.
But anyone complaining about getting out of the liberty bowl hasn't seen bad traffic leaving an event.

Agreed. The good ole' football onlies wanna leave at the end and be home in ten minutes. Damn.
Not us. We like to go back to the Tailgate spot and watch everyone else try and get out while we drink really good coffee.

I'm drinking it right now. I usually drink about 5 mugs (which is like 10 cups) per day, all day, every day. I will usually be drinking it right up until bed, which is usually sometime between midnight and 2:00am... and 3601.... It ain't Sanka.

Me too.
But I suspect I have a much looser limit on the time frame "pre-game".
And "football season".

Nah, the 40 or so people in our tailgate group usually stay around and continue tailgating a good 2-3 hours or so after the game, along with many other Tiger fans who are doing the same thing. And, C'mon Fish, football onlies? I hate that idiotic term, used only by those idiots who fear Tiger football will some how ruin our Tiger basketball program. I'm actually surprised you used that term in the first place Fish, as I know you and your dad support both football and basketball in a big way. GO TIGERS!

if done right it can be a huge for the local economy. soccer fields and lacrosse fields bring thousands of visitors to town for weekend events. they fill the hotels and restaurants for the weekend. many of the tournaments require three night stays. Indianapolis area has huge investment in amateur sports facilities and it has been very good for the city and surrounding area

I think it is hard for people who haven't had kids who play youth travel sports to understand how big some of these events are and how much revenue they produce.
There is a huge youth volleyball tournament in St. Louis every President's Day weekend. It probably generates as much revenue for the city as the SEC basketball tournament did this past March.

I think you should probably define "Football only". Does it mean:
1. I love football, hate basketball, and think the UofM should shut down the basketball program
2. I love football, and think it should get priority over the basketball program.
3. I love football, but don't currently buy basketball tickets. I want them to do well though.
I'm firmly a #3, and have no shame. What do you mean by "Football only"?

It sounds like the proposed building would be able to host basketball, volleyball, cheer & dance, wrestling, etc. Apparently, these cheer & dance tournaments are HUGE.
