I’ve been to Dick Price stadium. You will be able to sit wherever you want with the exception of the small Spartan booster seating. Think of it as an overgrown high school stadium that has way more seats than Norfolk State can fill.
Buy a cheap ticket.
Also, since it is a night game you might consider parking in downtown 2 miles away so you can pregame and postgame indulge at many watering holes while taking the light rail to campus. If you drive to the game, find a way to park ON campus. If you can’t, do not park adjacent to campus on a side street. You may be missing some wheels or the entire vehicle.
If you're not from around here, take this advice.
No disrespect to NSU - I feel completely comfortable on campus and with the people who attend/attended/support their school. Hundreds of my friends, associates, and family members went there. However, I've been a victim of crime myself in an area within a stone's throw of the campus and seen plenty of harassment and sketchy behavior by the guys who hang around the 7-11 just at the corner where you turn to head to the school.
Lots of love for NSU, but be careful in the surrounding area.
Not that familiar with the area but in the game day parking (public pay parking), which I think is on the NSU campus a safe place to park and walk back and forth to the game with a family? I am thinking it is, but just curious about opinions?
Never been to a game before, but I’m planning on parking wherever the official parking on campus is and feel safe in doing so.

Gotcha, that was my thinking as well. I am sure NSU will be vigilant and want visitors safe on their campus and to have a good time and spend $$$

Proud Spartan here. Parking on the streets are as bad as it's made to seem, but if you not on campus, go to Harbor Park and catch the tide. Just know the tide is not free. Buy the pass at the train stop.
Please bring the MRD's. The Legion needs a challenge and I need to know who's better between the 2.
The "Visitors Section" is the entire side behind your team. But general admission in anywhere in the stadium except from the 40-40 under the press box. I think the visitors side has a better view anyway.
Oh and the bands sit in the endzones. The MRD's will have plenty of room so please bring them.
Do not......DO NOT wait till you get there to buy your ticket. The ticket line takes FOREVER.
Lastly, any word on if the MRD's are coming. Wanted to make sure I remembered to mention them.
Such a shame they’re not planning to attend. I bet it’s due to budget as they’re going to Macy’s again in November on the school’s dime.
Very excited to come hear the legion. Last I heard them was last August in Charlotte at the Queen City BOTB. Heard from some NSU alums in the stands that last year’s band was extremely light on seniors & they were no slouch. Seems like big times ahead for your band!

However, nothing "official" showing/announced yet. I believe their home game against W&M last year was streamed live via this platform, though I think it was around 8 bucks PPV and not free. I'll be in the stadium, but hopeful there will be a free streaming option for folks who won't be there (or even better some TV outlet, though I'm guessing doubtful).

Rest assured, as much as we love our MRD's we will give an overwhelming ovation to the halftime show you present. I believe a great percentage of our fans will be there simply for this performance.

I can appreciate the band/halftime entertainment with the best of them.....buts lets get real......we are showing up to see a football game and some music/high steeping is a nice sideshow. Make no mistake JMUNation is not showing up in Norfolk for a band competition.

I’m literally attending mainly because of the band. Make no mistake. I’m showing up for the zero quarter/halftime/5th quarter.
Also, what college band competitions are there? I’m pretty knowledgeable about band, but have never heard of a college marching band competition. Care to enlighten me on this reference? Otherwise, it sounds like you were being a condescending meathead, although pretty thickly veiled.

Always happy to enlighten since it seems you are not as well knowledgeable as you seem to portray. The links below should help you soak up the college band experience.
Oh an by the way, if you are showing up for the zero quarter/halftime/5th quarter as you claim how many times have you been to a NSU football game in the past. The band is there every home football game every year.
Not trying to be condescending about the band, I appreciate and enjoy what those kids so. They are very skilled musicians. I just think the band talk was getting a little carried away is all.

With absolute respect, your original post came across as though you were speaking for all fans attending the game donning purple and gold. We each have our thoughts on the intriguing factors drawing us to the NSU stadium the second week of CFB season. Making a statement as though you are the voice for JMU Nation can be offensive especially when not correct.
For me personally, this is more of an event collective of many factors. Rest assured, many people come to BFS to see the MRD's and a football game just happened to take place. My daughter is a perfect example of this. It's taken a lot of effort for her to understand the game of football and have her attention throughout all four quarters. It took no effort for her to make sure we entered the gates of BFS soon enough as to not miss the MRD'S come down Champions Drive and enter the stadium as we watched from the stair railing above. Just as the Band leaves their endzone seating, she makes her way to a special spot against/under the pressbox where she prepares herself for the halftime program. To even suggest she attends for the football is only a dream of mine.
