I said 6-6 is the minimum expectation. if Lunsford doesn’t get to 6 wins mark my word— there will be a growing movement that hiring him was a mistake and some will call for a change

LOL. You taking bets on App State conference wins +/- 5.5? I'll take some of that action if so.

I sort of see his theory. App will likely be underdogs in Jonesboro, and Troy in Boone is no picnic. It's certainly possible they could lose a 3rd

Personally, I'd set the over under at 6.5 though.

No, they just think because they took our safeties coach as their DC and our assistant S&C coach as their head man, that they are now on equal footing with the 2 time defending champs, whom they have only beaten once in the last seven tries. 03-thumbsup

No I just think that you lost both your Defensive Coordinators, one to us and the other to GT, and a difference maker on your S&C staff, not to mention all the talent you lost. It's not outside of the realm of possibilities that App could regress slightly to 5-3 in conference which isn't an insult.

How dare you be realistic?

I think I'm more offended by idea that GS will be 7-5 more so then App being 7-5.

I totally agree that App has several ? marks and those need to be answered before predicting anything more then 7 wins. I'd be more cautious and realistic too.
But under the same logic, surely we can't assume that a 2-10 team with a new coach and ? marks improves to 7 wins ... right??? Or do I just have to wear a certain shade of glasses to see this?

Vegas put GS's over/under at 6.5. Take your offended-ness up with them.

Oh, so we're going by Vegas??? Cause they have App at 8.5 ... so since it seems we're taking the over, predicting App as low as 7, or at the least equal to GS, seems a little off then.

Quote: Sources: Las Vegas Bowl will pit Pac-12 vs. another Power 5 league (SEC most intriguing possibility) in 2020 in Vegas’ new NFL stadium. This will end the bowl’s 19-year relationship w/Mountain West. In 2020, MWC could send its champ to Arizona Bowl

That would be huge and a good reason to try and stay with the Arizona bowl contract. The SBC would be able to play the MWC champ and the MAC champ in the bowling season

Yeesh, and y'all say I'M dramatic...

I going with low expectations and hoping to be pleasantly surprised. So I think App and Gast each win 9 games and GS wins 4.

If anyone's feelings are hurt over smack talk on a message board, they might be need to find a new life or something. haha

Doesn't matter what anyone predicts, Just questioning the logic of thinking GS will end the season with the same record as App.
I enjoy having a little smack talk fun in calling out GS fans for being a little homerish, nothing more then that.

Guys relax, this has been happening literally every preseason. You have to let some GS fans be preseason homers. They will always predict 7+ seasons no matter what because their fanbase really believes FCS=SBC. It is what it is lol.

No offense guys, but I'm going to trust what I see on the practice field, my knowledge of the history of our program, and knowledge of just how bad the previous coach was based on what he did with our 2016 roster and info from insiders over "b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but that's homerish!"

0-12

What does Georgia State's 2013 record have to do with anything?

And Neal Brown went from 4-8 to 10-3 in one off season but Chad Lunsford can't go from 2-4 to 7-5? Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhkay...

Pre-2017:

"I keep running down our schedule game by game and have a hard time finding 7 losses. That's going to require 5 losses between conference, New Hampshire, and UMass."

You guys are confident every year, and I get that. But if you're going to predict a miraculous turn around, be ready for some ribbing. I personally just thought it was funny that a poster had App and GS with the same record given our relative positions in the conference of late. That's all. 03-thumbsup
