We are screwed.

How so? I didn't read anything in the article to indicate that we would be screwed. Maybe I'm missing something.

Our new President is not going to fight for anything. He is too passive. Unless someone above his paygrade is fighting tooth and nail for an OCS, this guy will be railroaded into letting the city get all the money - again.

We are screwed.

That was my assessment after I saw him 'testify' at some 'school' where he used to work.

Being wrong about his ball situation or lack thereof would be excellent.

The one possible savior of the OCS is if he has that bureaucratic selfish streak that his institution should hold all the marbles. That might be in there.

I guess it depends if he views this as a stepping stone or a semi-permanent position. it took him a lot of interviews to get to President. He has ambition or the desire to move on ---or someone in his family does. lol

I'm not feeling much loyalty in his personality mix--Rudd had that and then some.

Rudd was a once-in-a-generation leader like C.C. Humphreys.

Rudd was a comfort. We always knew he would do his best with the University and Memphis in mind. He was Memphis. sad sadder saddest to see him go

lol I'll prolly ignore this one till he shows us a spark of pro-Memphis life--no matter how small. He's been easy to ignore so far... but he just got here.

Yeah. He looks like a caretaker so far. That means any thing of import must come from above.

The man said they he's a hands off servant. He's there to remove obstacles and to ensure that his team has all the resources to make things happen and he's not going to lose focus of that.

That is exactly what a leader needs to be. I'm behind him 100%

I'm behind him as well, but I do not think that type of leadership is likely to get us an on-campus stadium.

RE: Stadium naming rights
Don’t know why none of the smoke from our Rivals site has not reached here, but the reporting there is that “the word” is there will be a major announcement around the spring game or certainly before the end of the month re: construction plans for a new stadium. Multiple posters on that site believe this to be true. Who knows? Hope they are correct.

Rivals site? I remember when we had one of those over 20 years ago until it folded. Had no idea they got it going again.

They do a good job at putting out football content..essentially nothing for basketball, but good work with football.

I've heard "around the spring game" is when you will hear the announcement as well.

An announcement implies that a decision has already been made. That doesn't match up very well with the recent CA/DM interview with Dr. Hardgrave. He clearly stated that no decision has been made, but will be in the next few months.

How do we go from that to an announcement in a few weeks? Sounds like Rivals 'smoke' is not very reliable or Dr. Hardgrave is lying. I'll stick with Dr. Hardgrave until he proves me wrong.

Talk is so easy. Most of those guys take leadership classes (sometimes just online) where they learn pat phrases.

That being said, we just gotta be a teeny bit patient and see how he walks his talk. We'll know pretty soon.
