Sadly, we all would be looking forward in great anticipation to seeing the new remodels and new buildings but for the season this year. I have no idea if I'll even be able to see a live game this fall.

What it will look like inside the Syracuse Stadium

Yes that is an ironworker hanging about 150 feet over the stadium floor

That roller coaster looking steelworks will be permanent.

The roof will be about 50/50 between hard and soft roof

Some strong work being done at multiple stadiums. Keep the photos coming, gents.

I would like to see Vanderbilt Stadium get an overhaul but I'm not optimistic.

Final finishing of the white/hard part of the roof is nearing completion. Should be done in the next few days. It's not obvious to me what else has to be done on the translucent part of the roof. The clear plastic panels all appear to be up, but not all appear blue in the sunlight. I will say, the new roof looks way cooler in reality than it did in the concept art.

I just wonder if a chill goes over college sports for more renovation projects and new buildings? I think schools are going to be hesitant until we conquer Covid-19 and positive revenue streams return.

Will schools like Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State still get mega crowds for Football in 2022?

I've been to games at Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State and they had some of the most cramped seating for this 6'4" guy. Not sure I'd want to go back.

Will schools concentrate on amenities and increased fan comfort? Even if it means reduced capacity?

Actually it is the stadium in Little Rock which usually hosts a game each year.

BTW, I thought Colorado State's stadium was well done on a cost per seat basis.

Memphis did a 2-for-1 with UA and I'm hoping one of the games is in Little Rock so Tiger fans can travel.

Syracuse's first game scheduled for September 26th against Georgia Tech

Worried but not panicked yet...lol

I wonder if this local high school would get the call to be the backup? No fans at the game so seating wouldn't be an issue.
http://www.rsa-architect.com/portfolio/k...e-stadium/

Here is a look at the PFTE being installed on the roof over the playing surface.

https://livestream.weatherstem.com/onond...umulus.jpg

A ton of respect for the Ironworkers who are working on the roof.

Here is an IG video from a local Syracuse ironworker. Pretty awesome video from back in the summer

https://www.instagram.com/p/CDzqV5VhigL/

The final portion of the roof needs to be installed. Lighting and speakers finalized. Remove all the boards/paneling covering level two from the weather, and clean up. Reinstall the Fieldturf (it is palletized and is done quickly). And most importantly inspection to open.

Since it won't get stress tested with 40-50K fans initially they should be able to get approval to continue to work around the games. I think they want to try to do some Phase 2 items if they can ahead of schedule. Limited AC in the building should be soon. Full AC is expected for Fall 21.

Phase 2 if fully done (money still available? with Covid-19), new seating, blowing out concourses, improved eating amenities and upgraded suites. These projects are are smaller and can be done piecemeal. There is talk with the new seating and suites the capacity could get reduced to 44,000.

I really hope SU could host the NCAA Basketball championship within 10 years. It would be nice to have it on campus once in awhile.

Yes...here is a link

On my browser I could double click and blow it up. The big huge thing covered is the new 4 sided video board, it will be hoisted up as soon as the building is weatherproof.

Phase 1 is taken care of...mostly through donations from what I heard. Phase 2? that is the big question. My thought is it could be scaled back.

Phase 1 was listed at $118M...however, doing the AC work early has likely increased costs. No word yet on a new naming sponsor. My guess is still Carrier. They still have engineering, education and customer service centers in Syracuse.

Yeah it won't be big compared to JerryWorld and the huge screens in some college endzones but it will be somewhat close to most as it sits squarely over midfield.

In Phase 2 the thought is installing a track system for the 4 sided video board and it could move closer to the basketball court for the basketball games.
