Also their DBs/Safeties are likely the best of the 4 teams we have seen thus far. Besides their slip in game 1, ECU have blistered their other opponents. This will be both a challenge mentally and physically.
Three star starter, 6'3" Sophomore Pro Style QB Reid Herring is a good QB, but young and not yet extraordinary. He is no threat to run at all.
Ultimately three star 6'4" 240 lb Dual Threat Freshman Holton Ahlers is going to scare people. Probably not this year( I hope).
ECU has four primary receivers.
The ECU go-to receiver is two star 6' 2" senior Trevon Brown. He is a potential NFL prospect.
Three star Junior, 6'1" Deondre Farrier is the also a good receiver and more or less the number two.
Two star Freshman, 6'1" Blake Proehl will be good as he matures. He could become the #2 receiver soon if he is not already.
Two star Senior, 6'4" Terrell Green rounds out a good sized group.
These tall receivers could bother our DBs like we did to those of VT.
However, Herring has heretofore not shown the ability to "finish". He not a scrambler either.
IMLO, a lot will depend the pressure we can put on him.
I still cannot shake the scary feeling I am getting about QB Holton Ahlers. I am glad he is just a Freshman.
