RE: 2018-19 MBB
It is interesting reading the JMU board about their MBB OOC scheduling. With the deteriorating condition of their program, there OOC scheduling has shown decline, particularly at home. It will be interesting to see if they can leverage their new arena to get a better OOC going forward.

This also makes me appreciate the recent uptick in our OOC home schedule, ie ODU home and home vs 2-1, St Joes, and GMU at home, as well as Notre Dame and UVA on the road. Throw in Duquense, Radford, High Point, Marshall and Hampton and it is miles better than JMU.

GO Tribe!

As is everything about our basketball program. Have to post something positive as we prepare for another trip to the House of Horrors for football.

We are Duquesne's season opener on Nov. 10th. Saw a statement from one of their sports blogs that we were a very tough opener. My how perception has changed about this program. Hopefully having a game already under our belt will have us ready to do some damage.

We are 40 days away from our season opener. Seems like I was driving back from Charleston just last week.

Not sure Duquesne has any room to say any team isn't a tough opener. They've sucked for several years in a row. They've won 20 games once since 1980-81.

High Point, Howard and a few other recent opponents hopefully will remind the Tribe that past performance does not equal future results. With the tough nonconference schedule we have, winning the opener against High Point and then following that up with a road win at Duquesne will be important. Plus, it's the Gotham Classic. Already ready for basketball season.

Any word on how Justin’s recovery is coming along?

Pumped that practice starts in only a few short weeks.

It may not equal future results, but it also shows that no team should be taken lightly at the beginning of the season. Who would Duquesne have the right to take lightly? They've been terrible since before I worked for the A-10.

Got an e-mail today with the info for on-line ticket renewal. Once again, I will have to call to have them walk through for me how to designate my annual contribution to get the benefits I want - but that is a senior moment type issue.

Am I wrong or did season ticket prices go up about $30? Not complaining, just curious.

My seats went up $13, so, about $1/game, but I'm not in the donation sections. Cost is in line with Richmond. Considering budget needs, I think they could easily bump up prices and have no one blink. Not any entertainment events out there as inexpensive.

Yep. Checked my email after your posting and got the email from the ticket office. My three seats went up from $425 last year to $515 this year. I will gladly pay the increase for what Tony and his players and coaches are giving us. At least I hope that Basketball gets the benefits of the increase. Heck, if they send me a refund for my three Elon tickets, I will be even.

Speaking of tickets...I'm on out-of-stater and know I'll be getting back for one game this year.

Any idea when Single Tickets Go on Sale? And am I correct the only way to get Parquet Level is to call so they can verify Tribe Club donations?

Unless we have a new ticket office, yes. Although I think you'd be better off asking if anyone here has extras before you make any purchases.

Does practice start this week? I thought I read that a school can hold its first practice 42 days before its first game.

According to this article on Barstool WM has the second highest average points per possession over the last five years in division 1 college basketball, behind only Villanova.

Careful, you are very close to making an observation complimentary to our coaching.

Mehkel Harvey’s travel team tweeted:

“@WMTribeMBB 6-9 freshman post Mehkel Harvey checked in at 210-pounds today along with a 31-inch vert. Arrived on campus in late July at 190-pounds. Elite shotblocker/finisher with a 7-2 wingspan”

Those are some sick measurables from Harvey. If his skills catch up to his physical traits, he could be special. Working with and against Nate & Andy everyday should prove valuable.
