Btw, Chase’s physique is far more developed than most freshman we sign when they first land on campus. He looks like he is ready to compete physically from the get go. Pumped to see all these guys on the court.

I think that Chase is going to be the kind of guard that normally is a star for other teams in our conference and always leave me to wonder why we can never get a guard like that. A physical presence on offense and a shut down defender.

I absolutely love this freshman class and truly hope that everyone of them can find a meaningful role in our rotation. Can't wait for the season to start.

As a Richmonder, I would normally have an interest in attending those games, but as a spectator, regardless who is playing, I will never set foot in the Siegel Center again, in my lifetime. Will never forget our last game there when multiple spouses were having to restrain senior alum from going up to beat the s#/! out of a drunk trombone player in their pep band. I have been waiting for the day that something bad happens at a game there due to unprovoked harassment of opposing team fans, and that the school is, consequently, sued because of it's failure to address and control the behavior over the years. I even had a friend independently make the same comment once after attending, of all things, a Davidson women's volleyball match there. I applaud the success of the program and the remarkable fan base they have nurtured, but the too often, out of bounds, uncalled for, and unchecked behavior of some of their fans is a liability waiting to get them in trouble. I actually hope we never return on each other's schedules.

One of the greatest things that have spurred on the wonderful progress of our basketball program has been a simple addition by subtraction, namely VCU's departure from the CAA. We have absolutely nothing in common with that school and I can think of no circumstance where we would ever be able to compete with them on a level playing field. I also hope that we never return on each other's schedules.
Strong letter to follow

Speaking of Chase, I recently ran across this photo on Twitter that I had never seen before. That's the exact kind of player I've always wanted us to have. [Image: e4657870f0ec3e04492e232ea59263df.jpg]

And now we do!! Wouldn't that be a sight in game at Kaplan.

This program has come a long way under Tony and staff.

Love to see promos help to pack the Kap for opening night against Tubby. We owe High Point.

We have our house up for sale and I was trying to straighten up our garage this morning when I found an old box with stuff in it from my Mom:s house after she passed away. Mostly stuff from when I was a kid an awfully long time ago that really meant nothing. But amongst all of the clutter that I was about to just throw away was what I at first thought was just a random ticket stub from a Tribe basketball game. Upon closer inspection I got chill bumps and was suddenly 40+ years younger.

December 7, 1977

8:00 P.M.

William & Mary vs. North Carolina

I will never forget that night.I am going to consider this an omen for what's to come this season.

That was an awesome night! I particularly loved the panic and desperation of UNC toward the end of the game.

And, though not very important in the big picture of things, December 8, 1977, was the first day I ever thought of attending W&M!

What bumper sticker? I was there -- but I have never seen or heard of a commemorative bumper sticker. Can one of you post a picture of it? (Come to think of it, maybe Biggjohn should post a picture of the '66 Mustang, too).

I have one. It's basic gold on green, with the score. I'll see if I can't find it and post a picture.

Word from freshman orientation is that Chase and LJ are completely engaged in the process, and are having a great time with their new classmates. Haven't heard much about the other three, but all are taking part in activities that could easily have skipped. It's great that they are feeling a part of the larger campus community right from the start.

Here you go. FM96 was WBCI 96.1 , the Flagship station (when we had about 5-6 affiliates in football, 3-4 in basketball)

Also, I got this recently, at a local auction. Thought you might enjoy seeing it. It cost me $5. (One thing about bidding on W&M memorabilia, generally, there is not a lot of competition. )

It's a bottle opener (for Cokes or beer), built into the bottom.

Cool!! Now that I see it, perhaps I did see them way back when ...but lost in the mists of time now. Now, to STILL have one on your bumper -- that would be cool. Thanks!!

Love it! I think it also speaks to the example the older guys have set. If they were “too cool for school” it’s very likely the freshmen would follow suit. Gotta love what seemed like a big culture shift in this program after the 2016-17 season, and something that I hope continues into this year.

02-13-banana:The new guy !! I've been a fan for quite sometime and have been following the tribe for about 3 years. Question Everyone keeps praising and complementing the newest arrivals to the program. They will have little or no impact on this years team, So why not give the veterans their do ?

Sorry, but at least two of them will get real minutes unless you think that we're all set with Rowley as the back up center and Loewe will play 40 minutes at point guard. My guess is that we'll see Audige playing some minutes just because he can play defense regardless of the other two positions.
