While most of us had us at 9-4 at this point in the year, it's the way we're losing and the lack of recruiting success.
We are showing that we are coachable and we give solid effort. Our wins have come from exactly that - coaching and effort. The problem is that our losses are coming from a talent deficit. Combine that with the fact that we are not seeing any sure talent coming in. So it leads to where 95% of us are.
When did you join the 95%?
After this game?

According to KenPom, Memphis would be the 6th best team in CUSA.
Let that sink in.

I think Penny is the only good choice at this point. But no way you ask him to buyout the contract.
Absolutely incorrect.
Beard made 900k his first year at TT
Musselman made 400k first year at Nevada
Menzies makes 700k at UNLV
Forbes makes 250k
Etc, etc
There are many good options out there if the people in charge know wtf they are doing.

I broil with frustration when I think of "what could have been" after GT gifted us by taking Pastner off our hands. Somehow, we have managed to get worse.

There are folks saying tell Penny Hardaway to buy out Tubby's contract then come and work as a head coach on the cheap until he gets his feet wet as a college coach.
Really?!!
Where does a perspective coach buy out a previous coach's contract then gets hired by program to coach its team?
Where They Do That At?!
Some folks on this board are delusional!

When I said that it was really "tongue in cheek". Wasn't thinking how some people overreact to everything.
But, I am sure we could hire Penny on the cheap since he does donate to the university. I would put money on it that Penny would be willing to help out with a lower salary until we get past the Tub mistake.

Buy Tubby out for the remaining 3 years for $9mm. Stretch it out over the 6 years as contract allows. So that means you pay Tubby $1.5mm for next 6 years. Go hire Penny, Forbes, etc. for $1.5mm salary and you are paying the exact same as keeping Tubby. Hope is restored....recruiting improves immediately, fans come back. Too easy and problem solved.

People just need to stop with the next head coach being Penny ... No way, no how ... No good reason for him to want that job, and only the possibilities of destroying his legacy ( ie, Finch at the Hot Dog stand ) ... He does the university more good in his capacity as an Ambassador .... and if he could, he would be steering ALL of the Team Penny kids to Memphis; no questions asked !!!

The fact that this sorry LSU team is "a loss already in our minds" should tell you everything you need to know. Not even in Johnny Jones year would I think we'd lose to the worst team in the SEC at home.
Truthfully, LSU is not the WORST team in the SEC. Maybe preseason. But not now. Old Miss, Vandy have something to say about that.

So the last 20+ fire Tubby threads weren't official? Or does this mean that from now on, all firing related threads will be merged into this one, and I can finally get my fix of Football and Zambodia information.

I guess you just don't listen to the radio since just about every person in the local market has said at one point or another that "yes, Penny wants the job." But Penny also has class, so he isn't going to go out and publicly announce he wants a job someone else currently has. Now, if you need Bowen, Rudd, or Penny to personally call you and tell you something, you are out of luck and just wasting my time.
