Of course we are all glad to save some money on our tax bill for a few years but it is basically a cheap bribe to keep the masses occupied while they walk out of the bank dragging bags of money. Squirrel!!!!!

Im going to predict that at some point next year due to the lowering of corporate overhead that competition will exert pressure on prices and drive them lower in concert. This of course will give the poor and middle class the most benefit.

You mean, like calling it a tax increase for 100 million or depriving 13 million of health care?

What I don’t understand is why democrats parrot those sound bytes knowing they are untrue. Do they really believe them? What happens next year when people realize they are untrue?

Yes, the biggest part of the bill is business related. It amazes me some people think that is a bad thing given we were paying the hights corp tax rate on the planet.

Yep. The fact is that the consumer(individuals) pay the corporate tax in price of goods and services. Lowering that rate "should" exert downward pressure on prices. It will only take one competitor to try and take market share by lowering prices to start price wars. Lower prices are good for everyone..especially the middle class and poor.

At the worst...lowering the rate should keep inflation in check for the foreseeable future even if the Libs are correct and corporations just decide to pocket the savings.

The left sees "corporate" and suddenly thinks of Halliburton and Lockheed Martin. I don't think they realize that their car mechanic, HVAC company, dry cleaners, kids sports leagues, accounting firm, home builder/rennovator, doctors office, lawyer, and electrician are all likely incorporated.

On the other hand, do you really think the savings from the tax changes are going to be passed along to the consumers? I doubt it. The shareholders certainly, but not the consumers.

More people need to be invested in the stock market. Either directly or through pensions and 401k. How is the bond market being impacted by the new tax bill? Rates for CDs?

it depends how one views "inflation".....mine is completely different vs. the gubberment's official version.....

energy/food/housing/service are real costs that are not properly recognized IMO......there is real danger of rising costs in that arena depending on where one lives vs.the residual impact.....

having said that, that's the job of the federal reserve to adjust accordingly moving forward......right now there are too many variables to address how this impacts the future of those not recognized....

Yes, the biggest part of the bill is business related. It amazes me some people think that is a bad thing given we were paying the hights corp tax rate on the planet.

But they aren't paying the highest corp tax rate on the planet. The statutory rate in the highest but the effective rate, what corps really pay is 18.6%. Argentina, Japan and the United Kingdom rates are higher and it isn't that much more than Brazil, Germany or India. I amazes me that you guys ignore this fact. It will be interesting to see what those numbers are going forward. Are the loopholes that were suppose to be eliminated actually removed? I doubt it. The "carried interest" loophole certainly wasn't.

create more higher paying jobs allows exactly that as long as the "real" cost of living stays in check.....however, if the cost/valuation of essentials increase, that will offset that potential....

how did the avg cost of a vehicle go from 5k to 20k almost overnight....

how did the real estate market become overpriced to the point of collapse....that one had never happened before

how did the cost of gas shoot to 4/gal overnight.....gimme a break if one comes with supply/demand after Katrina

how did a loaf of bread go from .50/loaf to over 3/loaf.....or a gal/milk to over 4

there are valid concerns how this is handled moving forward......

there's a reason too many have to pool resources to live.....and I easily agree with this strategy by implementing this portion as first pass.....

they're going to have to get creative to keep the price of goods in check for this to be a benefit to the whole in the long term....

the USD is a fragile thingy.....there are ways to keep things in line.....they best not **** it up this time....

The vast majority of the benefits from the bill are to large corporations not mom and pops.

False, the benefit is the same. The corporate tax rate and cut is applied equally.
