I find things these events today are just too loud. Like baseball. When I was a kid, there was an organist. Now I get intro music for all batters that mostly SUCKS. In between innings, more LOUD SUCKY music.
I went to my kid's high school and there was a kid playing Carry on Wayward Son on the guitar and I'm thinking, hey, this is a good song and the kid has taste, but the song is 40 freaking years old. There hasn't been any good music in the last four decades that you want to emulate? And, that's the problem.
And it's TOO LOUD.

PS- Stay off my lawn!
Yeah, hitting on my pet peeves too...but I agree with some of the other commentators, if you put a winning team on the floor, little else matters
[peeve #1 - about the batters in MLB and their music - yeah it's great to have his 'theme song' playing, but a 5-second snippet that no one can recognize, it's just noise]
[peeve #2 - "There hasn't been any good music in the last four decades" - yes there is good rock music put out, but the radio is just playing 40-year old music. There's a few good bands playing rock music out there, a few play the Kent Stage like moe., ecoustic hookah, Tea Leaf Green, etc - you just have to look for them]
And actually, the rap music I've heard at KSU Basketball games haven't had too suggestive of lyrics, pretty much PG-13 level at the worst.
Hey, and if you're a Grumpy Old Man and the music's too loud, don't worry, you should start losing your hearing soon and you won't care.
And one more gripe - the Record Courier just had a article about a 9-year plan for KSU to spend $1 billion on construction, and still no basketball arena -
