Let me guess...the passenger smoked marijuana 40 years ago so the cops had the right to murder him?

But he wasn't driving the truck so if you are in fear for your life from the truck, why do you shoot the passenger? How is that going to stop the truck?

Do cops actually believe that shooting a truck is going to stop it?

Maybe someone should explain to them that you can't kill a truck.

actually, shooting at a vehicle does stop the vehicle.... 07-coffee3

I suppose it could eventually. It can also kill the people inside the vehicle even if they aren't driving the car.

Is this really police procedure?

Would it have been so bad to just let the truck go this time and use actual work instead to capture the suspected thief? The solution is NOT to use firearms. This is just making a dangerous situation more dangerous.

Just trying to figure out what the excuse will be for extra judicial killing by a police officer will be.

Tom, I would love to see how you'd react if you were placed in legitimate fear of your life as often as police officers are. It's easy to second guess with 20/20 hindsight. Making the same decision in a split second is a different matter altogether.

Let me guess, when you sign up to be a police officer you forfeit the right to defend yourself when someone is trying to run you down with a car.

There is no excuse needed for things like this anymore.

All you have to say is that they were in fear for their lives.

For those with the memory of a goldfish.......

Zimmerman stalked an innocent kid with a loaded weapon and killed him after 911 dispatch told him not to follow.

Firing a gun at something FLEEING is not putting your life in danger.

Murdered the kid..

But the victim was black and the male with a gun wasn't...so he had the right to just lynch Treyvon. I think that's how our laws work in Florida.

Again, how do you hit the PASSENGER in a truck driving towards you? You hit the passenger in a truck that is moving away from you while turning to your left

Ok, if the guy was not coming directly at him OR the police officer could get out of the way...then you'd be good with the police officer going to jail for killing the passenger?

If the truck was coming at them, they may have shot at the truck as it was passing them once they got out of the way.
