No one has accused Martin Jim of doing anything wrong on Nov. 17.

But he was shot five times and killed by a sheriff’s deputy, and then handcuffed and left facedown in the dirt for hours, said Sam Bregman, an attorney representing Jim’s family.

“It was like they had just shot a big-game trophy and they were very proud of it,” Bregman said next to a picture of the aftermath of the shooting. “That’s the dignity that they gave him.”

Looks like another unarmed man shot dead.
Odds that this will be another fitfail post after the evidence is known?

But he wasn't driving the truck so if you are in fear for your life from the truck, why do you shoot the passenger? How is that going to stop the truck?

Do cops actually believe that shooting a truck is going to stop it?

Maybe someone should explain to them that you can't kill a truck.

I suppose it could eventually. It can also kill the people inside the vehicle even if they aren't driving the car.

Is this really police procedure?

If the article is going to quote this comment, then the article should show the picture from the comment.

Gawd dawn I swear modern journalism is still in fear of running out of ink on the internet.
Sounds like you need to wait for the evidence of what happened to come out.

I may have missed it since I only read it once but didn't the article say that law enforcement refused to investigate the matter and the deputy is already back on the streets?

If thats the case, then there's a lot of evidence the article doesnt present. Go check that out.
See what evidence is presented first.

What do you mean by first?

What evidence do we already have? Are we not allowed to speculate based on what we have so far?

We aren't part of the jury are we?
The article said the deceased passenger was sitting behind the drivers seat...so likely the bullets passed through the driver and struck him. Doctrine of transferred intent would likely apply if his fear for his life was reasonable under facts as he knew them.
The board lib police haters never post when some p.o.s thug guns down a police officer. Yet they relish the opportunity to come here and attack police when given the opportunity. I wonder one day if their life depends on a police officer risking his life to save their life would change their opinion of the police?.....Of course it wouldn't. Their hate for the police in ingrained in their soul.

there you go have it.

Let me guess...the passenger smoked marijuana 40 years ago so the cops had the right to murder him?
